Gareth, as far as we know, the JCW tuning kit was only available for the Cooper S on the 2nd generation R56 MINIs (2007+).  The Gen1's (2002-2006) had an option for the Cooper non-S models, but not for the Gen2 R56...

BUT, you could always order 17" wheels for the R56 Cooper as an option from the factory - not a 'standard' configuration but could be specified in the build from the factory.

Hi All

in the 2010 mini brochure it lists that there was a factory option of a John cooper works kit and this kit was available for all coopers including the base mini. I assume that the kit was only cosmetic and wouldn't make a base mini into an actual John Cooper Works mini.

Does anyone have any info on what the kit contained? wheels, tires, etc.

The reason I want to know is that I occasionally go scca solo racing and they have restrictions on what modifications are allowed to stay in the unmodified class. If 16" or 17" wheels were offered as a factory option then i can use 17" wheels and stay in HS class. Can anyone tell me if the john cooper works kit included 16" or 17" wheels?
