Thanks for the positive opinion of Rudy. He and I are negotiating a 1275 1992 Rover Cooper in what looks like great shape. I hope to fly up in the next 2 or 3 days to see the car , and Rudy has no problem with me getting a PPI done on this Mini ! Thanks, Darren.

That is something we chat about AL, we have and always have had so much. We often wonder about the guys and girls out in the middle of no where, who don't have parts or mini friends. Once again , we are so blessed to live in Southern Ontario, Canada. Where,s my flag, I need to wave it. Oh, and I remember when you were big AL. Cheers

When l used to be “BIG TIME” in the classic mini business, l was blessed to have Ben & Carol (BMC) , Mr Doolin & at the time Mr Mini all within a half hours drive

And yes Don, not forgetting Brit West, 3/4 of an hour from me

And my # 1 Brit car master mechanic is 15 minutes away

In fact, my upholsterer, body man, painter, tire shop, auto electric shop, canvas shop , appraiser & the DMV are all located right here

The mini Gods are looking after me

I have had a good experience with Dr.Doolin in Port Colborne ON, who bought most of the parts from Ben & Carol when they closed.

I had a few issues and James was always helpful over the phone to try to sort things out.

Their website is not great, but I have no complains about their customer service, and they ship fairly quick.

However I still miss Ben and Carol!

Miguel

Rudy is not the only mini parts seller in Ontario, and he does sell many offshore parts which may not be everyone's cup of tea. Britain West Motorsports in Brantford Ont. sell quality mini parts for the race mini's and ground up restorations that Don Sobering builds. Call David Clubine- 1-519-756-1610. Or you could call on our host mini mania. Cheers

To change the subject , I received word today that my Mini is going to be picked up in Lethbridge either tomorrow or the day after. Sigh....relief..... Once it’s on the transporter I’ll have the tracking code and I watch it’s progess daily as it moves closer and closer. I suspect that once it reach Toronto it wil be a short time after for its arrival here on PEI. Paint me happy ??

I used to correspond with Al Diamanti quite a lot about his autocross car, and he bought a Minivan off me 10 years ago now.

From the comments above, I take it he's been struck with dementia or similar - something that, having watched a few relatives get struck by, sucks big time.  I'd rather get cancer than dementia.

Big Al, Mr Grean got one heck of a mini deal. Al Diamonti's mini was fast. Poor Al, He can't remember a thing now. It's funny, not really  funny, but he only remembers the mini. It is strange how this little car affects us. After I sold him that mini, it  just transformed him. He started the Long Island mini club. Took a 15 thousand dollar mini and put another 15K into it and countless hours trying to get all the modifications to work together. He did it all just before he lost his mind. I think it gave him a real sense of purpose.

I first met Rudy Boo Doo, aka Mr Great 10-12 years ago when he was still working for the City of Toronto and starting up his mini parts business He is now full time in the business and has grown it well, it also helped him that Ben & Carol of BMC retired from the business, closed up and moved to Newfoundland He was basically the only mini parts dealer left in Ontario, he has a pretty extensive inventory of mini parts and lots of bling

6464 (Jim), l sold Rudy,AL Diamentis’ blue mini 1380 supercharged mini, not sure what he has planned for it, l had to sell it because if l had kept it, l would have died

Perhaps he has enough money that his parts and mini sales ( he has one on Kijiji , a 1.3 JDM model that is admittedly in good shape, but he is asking 22,000$ CDN. Not quite twice what I paid for mine, and honestly they look almost like the same car. Both are silver. His is better, but I don’t think it’s twice as good. When I enquirer about that car, I found out it was Rudy ( cause he signed it etc ). That is the only one of about 5 or 6 emails I have sent to him...2 for parts quotes, and 3 or 4 for minis that he deals in. I guess the deal has to be big bucks for him to answer emails. I won’t critique him any more, but he is, in my honest opinion , a terrible businessman. Perhaps he doesn’t need the money. BTW- he has a white Tinny on his website...that may be the one you saw. It’s now decked out in Mr Grean decals etc. That’s the end of that as he isn’t here to defend himself. But he’ll get no more emails from me. Hi Keith and Deb, I’ll send that off this evening. I’ve got to make a grocery run, but I will pm you later today. Actually that’s am email, but I don’t think we can pm on this site, so the email address is a necessity. Peace friends ?? Derwood and Lupin.

Mr Grean has an awesome white midengine estates wagon. He brought it to one of the mini meets.
