As everyone who has ever gone to the Glen for vintage week end knows, motel/ hotel space is limited, yes plenty of camp sites but just a small number of motels in the area, in fact most rooms are booked year after year, the MG  club at the downtown Villager motel comes to mind

So one has to go farther afield to find accommodation, Bath NY on the west is usually a good place to stay (19 miles) but it looks like they are sold out now, so, Horesehead NY, (15 miles south on SR 14) is the next best bet

I lucked out at the Knights Inn in Horseheads @ $68.00 per night, not the Taj Mahl but certainly good enough for the racing week end

Go thru Priceline for quick booking

See you there & no, l will not be picking up the tab for drinks and dinner for the dozen & a half mini types at the Seneca Lodge like l did the year the mini was the marque, another time, another life

Due to health issues my vintage racers no longer race. Before the boys packed it in we were having good results with 3.7 CWP for the east coast tracks with their 3000 plus straights. Steve (CTR)

TTT. Racers out there, who can I expect to see next week? Spectators, anyone besides the above mentioned headed to the Glen next week? SUPER excited, as this will be my first time in over 25 years attending a race, let alone with my father in tow. Takes a bunch of cars on a track to get him up from Georgia...

Woof! That's wound up TIGHT!

Hoping to make it to this event - though as a spectator puttering about the place in a street mini.

Just to clarify, Jaguar is the featured marque at the Downtown Grand Prix week end

I hope to have my V-12 XJSC there

Hello Mini racers and enthusiasts!

Just a heads up that we are planning a big all-Mini race at Watkins Glen next September, in conjunction with SVRA. Mini is the feature marque. Should be a big entry of classic Mini race cars, and a epic MINI/Mini street car turnout. Everyone is invited to join the fun!

Check out our Facebook page for more details: https://www.facebook.com/WGMiniFestival/

Minis rule!

Cheers,
