flygirl (aka:Rachel Nelson) is one super organizer of these very special Mini racing celebrations. This one was not her first. As she and the Toybox Racing crew were packing up on Sunday afternoon, I asked her what she was dreaming up for the 60th next year. She had no answer, but by the look in her eyes, I think she may already be giving it some thought. I told her that what if anything she plans, or wherever it is held, many of us will be there to support her. The comraderie, sprortsmanship and brotherhood of this Mini racing community is second to none.

Kudos flygirl, to you and your team, for a fantastic and very well executed event. See you next time.

Aaron , It was good to meet you two also. Always happy to infect more Mini enthusiasts.
After 38 years of going to races and events it is great to see our "old friends" and to make new ones.
See you some time in the future.

Deb and Keith, it was nice meeting you both. My dad and I were the two paddock flys that kept popping up. You and he reminisced about that same Mini meet in Ohio in 1980. Thanks for being so welcoming and glad we got some good pics of Keith’s hands adjusting springs!

It was great helping Randy. We  first met Randy in Troy Ohio in 1980... We started by having Thursday BBQ at Dr Tom Christ 's motor home with his wife Tami and Jonathan... in exchange for a few steering wheel center parts... and of course Mainly Minis Montreal t-shirts. Then Randy broke a valve guide. Dennis Racine lent him a head. The head broke a spring.. so more work to replace the spring.  Friday night was the fish fry at Regogo racing and Saturday night was the SVRA dinner...It was like a MME 1980 reunion... met a lot of new people too. Camped at the track and had a really great time.... Debbie and Keith..Those arms adjusting the valve clearances are Keith's...

Was a good time. Had a small issue with the water pump gasket that caused an overheat problem that lead to a head gasket issue. My friend went out for qualifying and limped it back to the pits. Only after replacing the head gasket and adding water wetter did the water pump gasket become apparent.
It was after 1 p.m. and hadn't had coffee, breakfast or even morning meds.
Keith of KD jumped in and changed out the blown gasket while we got some much needed food.
Thanks Keith for the assistance.
1. Almost back together.
2. Dr Tom waits for the green.
3. Turn one I believe
4. Poster for this year with drivers signatures including Paddy Hopkirk.
5. Randy McConnell (Keith in the middle) and his wife Deb.

Weather was wild. Be roasted first 2 days and was very chilly last two.  Great time with old friends and new.

Big Al-
If I come by myself next year, I will do that. My father came with me this year and he avoids crowds like the PLAGUE. He drives his newly restored BMW 2002 all the way from Atlanta to come to the races, but won't drive back into town for fear of it getting creamed. C'est la Vie!

In addition, I have high res of all images from the weekend, so if anyone wants anything specific, let me know. The sun never fully cooperated with us for the weekend, so most pics are a bit drab. But, that's what Photoshop is for!

What an amazing weekend. Glad to have gotten to spend some great time with some great people. These are some of my favorite shots from the paddock, grid and track (mostly Turn 1). I'm sorry I didn't get to meet more of you from the forum- I didn't attend the parade through town, which sounds like it was well worth the stake out!
If anyone is looking for good shots of ANY cars from the weekend, I have WAY too many. To that end, if any drivers DO NOT want their cars posted here, let me know and I will take them down. Plenty of pics from the paddock and grid, so let me know if you want to see something else. Even if it's non Mini, I got most cars out there on Friday and Saturday (except for the FV/FF guys) during all classes, as well as most of the Minis out in the camping area and in the infield.
This was my first vintage racing event and the noise at startup on the false grid is still giving me perma-grin. Hope everyone else had a great weekend!

Well, another great year in the books. The weather could have been better, but I've been there in MUCH worse. Although It pisses me off, that it was 90 degrees here on Wed and Thursday, then turns to 50's at the track. It was chilly at the track and camping. Great to see Big Al again after all these years, and I want to thank Don again for catching up with me to give me a bottle of Tragically Hip wine! It was great talking to you, and I hope to see if I can get to Bronte this weekend. The mini's all looked good out there on the track, and I actually got to step into the same room as Paddy Hopkirk, (although I wasn't supposed to be there, so I didn't introduce myself :) ).

Terry,
Sorry, didn’t get any

But, will have Jeff try to pick me up a dozen, he is still there

Could not believe the number of mini guys from this forum that were there, just unbelievable, in fact the number and quality of the cars were unbelievable
I was able to secure a prime parking spot on Franklin St, aka the race way, set up my mini with a for sale sign , two lawn chairs, another mini parked beside me and voila, an instant mini used car lot, it soon became the magnetic centre of all things mini, we had a ball
in fact Andy Nelson (52) and the ten or so mini racers all lined up on the curb lane just in front of us, imagine Both curb lanes lined with  vintage race cars and another 100 or so racers roaring down the centre two lanes on their way around the old downtown course

you just can’t buy this type of entertainment!
