The Bring a Trailer car was built two cars after the 1071 that I had for years with it used as my daily driver for several years, including getting me to the mountains to ski. I sold it a few years ago and the new owner did a wonderful job restoring it. It interesting in that it was one of the all white cars.

If it's the same car I saw in May... it looked more like the cars in Parnell's book than any other Mini I have seen.  They went so far as to have MOWOG screen printed on the fan belt.

As a young boy there was a pig farm with hogs not a long walk from the house. We would wait till the big hogs came to eat and we would jump off the feeder and ride them back to the mud hole. Once they would roll you over in the mud it was hard to tell who's who. Your reply is the food he lives for. As much as you may hate to hear it BC may be one of the last shining lights here.

As for 1071 s I thought I read the 64 1071 Seven sold went for $80,000. Being the first of the Cooper S and what they did in 64 will be the stuff of legends for years to come. There may be a few 970 s and they did some great things as well. I'll stick with the 64 1071 S. Steve (CTR)

My guess is an all original, patina laden survivor 970S would fetch the most.

And now, back to our regularly scheduled programming!

Closed at $50k. I'm a little shocked it closed that high with all the replacement parts. Though I never think I'll sell mine, I assume the original patina helps the value? It just goes to show you that there are more than one bidder out there willing to crest the $40-$45k mark for a genuine MK1 Cooper. I'm also assuming the 1071 was the reason for the high number.

Any guess what the highest value car would be (aside from previous ownership or race credibility)? Is the 997 or the 1071 the most? Originality? How about the best restored? I seem to recall a car 7ent restored only fetching $30k even though it was better than new.

I've never said that (and wouldn't). Here's the entire thread that started your endless attacks. Apparently you can't handle it when you're wrong: https://www.minimania.com/msgThread/122277/1/1/Looking_for_a_MK1_S_LHD

That's a little surprising as the CA dollar is not that strong right now.
