You shouldn't have problems with any Mini in Texas. As far as selling or importing your current car, try and get in touch with Bill Cox. He can tell you what forms to use and what your best options would be. He's an expert when it comes to importing stuff. As for purchasing Minis in the US, I highly recommend 2 guys/dealers of Minis. That would be Big Al (oldminimover) and Malcolm (malsal). Both are reputable and are licensed dealers. Both will stand behind what they say. Other than them, there's always private sellers around but they may have good cars or may not. Anytime you purchase a Mini you should either lay hands on it or have someone knowledgeable in Minis to inspect it before you buy. Good luck and feel free to seek help from members here.

Selamat Datang Jose !  Stick with japan spec minis, fuel injected. Stick with the newer 90’s and up classic minis if you’re going to use it as a daily driver.... less headache!!  But if you want to tinker and fix, get the older classic minis like the 60’s to 70’s minis and get your hands full and dirty.... Good luck

Hello,

After spending almost 5 years in Malaysia with a classic mini, we are ready to make a move back to Houston Texas. Although I though about taking the car with me, I'm a bit concern with custom process (all the check-ups, the fact that mine is probably a mutt my mechanic put together, serial numbers and cars being retained in custom). Hence, I've decided to sell the car.

My question is rather simple, I would be keen on finding another mini in America provided that I can use it for my daily commuting. Are classic minis being brought up to texas requirements for daily use? if so, what should I be asking a seller to ensure I can buy and use my car instead of just keeping it in the garage and taking it 1 a week to the grocery shop 2 blocks away?

Thanks
JD
