@ MiniMike - Niagara Falls NY to Denver CO. Sometime in January after the 8th
@ Cheleker & Malsal - thank you.
@ BC - Thank you. I talked to Iain this morning. Sounds like a good guy. Am going to complete details once I've confirmed I've successfully got the car across the border from Canada this Friday.

Along woth all the other points mentioned make sure whoever you choose to transport the Mini follows through with the whole trip with the car in their possesion. Sometimes loads get dropped off and picked up by another hauler and that is when damage, late arrivals, excuses and other problems arise.
As you are using an enclosed trailer you will probably end up with a mom and pop company which is imo in the hauling world a good thing.

Once you've come up with a company to do the shipping, and if your car will be shipped with several others, post a note in big letters on the inside of the windscreen indicating that the car will need the Choke used to start it when cold. And label the Choke. Then walk through the process with the driver when the car is picked up (if he understands English).
Multiple car trailers often end up having cars moved on and off during the travel and there aren't many drivers who know what a choke is anymore!

what city's are you going from and to. You might be able to get a board member to add a second car and lessen the cost.
You want to know if they're insured, time of travel, inside or outside transport, references from previous customers, and get a certificate of insurance and a contract from them before they pick up the car.
you should also take the vin from the seller and insure the car for what ever amount you think it's worth. No telling what might happen, and it's nice to know it's got insurance on it.

Preparing to ship a Mini about 1,500 miles. Getting quotes from a couple of brokers, and also have an "auction" going on uship.
What questions should I be asking the brokers/shippers?
Haven't done this for many years, so especially interested in those who have recent experience.
Thanks!
