I'm enjoying SMCo's videos very much. Good content combined w/ 1st class production values. They are much easer on the eye than most Youtube videos—well meaning but poorly lighted with shaky cam work. Looking forward to a growing library of SMC vids.

+1 to what Alex says. When the lock nut is tightened, it removes any slack in the adjuster threads, changing the actual gap. Gap must be measured with the locknut tight.

Nicely done, but with one caveat - tightening the lock nut with the feeler gauge still in between the rocker and the valve stem is a bad idea and poor practice. It's very common to close the gap up as you tighten the locknut, and that's route one to having a thinner feeler gauge... Much better to check, remove, tighten, recheck.
Other than that, it's a good explanation of the process.
