The word "savant" comes from the French verb "savoir" = "to know".
Quote from Miriam-Webster online dictionary:
Definition of savant
He obviously does not fit definition 1 and does not exhibit the "exceptional skill or brilliance in some limited field", the pertinent part of definition 2.
PS, the derivation is from the Latin, sapere - from where comes the savoir thingie comes - I actually stayed awake on both French and Latin classes.

A basic 848cc Mini is capable (barely, but still capable) of getting a speeding ticket on the highway and an Innocenti, even more so therefore a 1400 mile highway trip, with speeding tickets, is entirely feasible.
I used to redline my Innocenti on an almost daily basis on the highway, zooming by all manner of vehicles.

Re-read this entire thread and reconsider who needs to chill. You literally struck out at me for no apparent reason. Completely unprovoked.
(Once again I did not heed my own advice... Do NOT feed the troll!!)
Most here tolerate him because even on their worst days they feel superior to him.
Mostly because they are.
Must stop here or he will get his CIA/FBI/Interpol and Scotland Yard buddies to come to my house.

Re-read this thread. Your intiial post was totally uncalled for (and unprovoked even?)....just a weak little man trying to be tough on the Internet, for no apparent reason.

Read my post again you pinhead, I am talking about selling off the Inno parts. Read everything a few times before you hit the keyboard, ok?
Seriously, this forum is getting exhausting with this moron... I honestly prefer "Specialist."

I maintain that it's a Mk1 S shell that someone transplanted Inno parts for some reason, and you could do worse as a starting point on an S restoration. But it's going to be a long expensive road sourcing all the correct S parts and engine to make this one right again.
Would love to add up the value of the Inno stuff and spare engines and subtract from the $6K total. Practically free, I bet, after all the hassle of pulling, selling and shipping everything.
The way S prices are going up the new owner could just store it for a while and it will make money LOL.
If in doubt, flat out. Colin Mc Rae MBE 1968-2007.

I agree there is plenty of potential with this Mini depending on the final price. When I first spotted this listing I was sure it had Inno DNA but have come around to Austin heritage. With all of the bits that have been swapped over it must have been a bare shell before the Innocenti parts were added. I only hope whoever wins the auction understands what they are bidding on.
