Worth a try, cost nothing, and if water makes any fine scratches or super fine cracks "go away" then you'll know.

Hmm... good tip. My roof has a clear coat w/ I believe some sort of UV protection, so I'm not optimistic. But, I'll give it a try. Thanks!

Maybe add just a little flake of your body color into the black?  Like if the car is red, put some red flake in the black roof.  When the sun hits it it will light up and add a little extra pop

Yeah, a CF stripes would be cool, right? I thought of leaving CF stripes on the bonnet. Going for a more stock look now.

Thanks, but no—it's gotta be black. Gloss, yes. Loved the carbon fiber look, but i've acquired a few blems in the CF so it's time to paint. Might leave a small, discrete circle of CF showing. I was hoping someone would have a PPG code for a classic Mini black (top color).

White also does not show imperfections as readily as black does.

A lot depends on the colour of the Mini. If you are doing black and the body colour is gloss then gloss black is the way to go.

Can't advise on shade of black, but I'd definitely vote "gloss". To me anything other than gloss always looks dirty.

I’m thinking seriously about painting my roof. I have a carbon fiber top and it’s developed a few blemishes. Thought I would spray it black—nothing fancy, just plan black. What is the standard; full gloss or satin? Any particular shade? Thanks!
