shredder, Good photo of a Super. Shows the grille well. What's the story of the car? Is it registered with the Mini Cooper Register?

Edited my post of May 11. Connection was listed to ".com". Changed to correct ".org".

Likely the one mentioned as being in Canada but sent to the U.S. originally.

swin, there are lots of problems checking whether a Super or not. Even Heritage gets it wrong. So, get the Chassis Number/VIN and contact Garry D***ens at [email protected].

mur, maybe true. If so, some people need to get their priorities straightened out! Minis first. Overpaid athletes second.

EDIT: Had contact as ".com". My mistake. S/b ".org". Change made.

Maybe Supers are less of a priority while the Jets are still in the playoffs?

Does the VIN on a Super indicate somehow that a car is a super, or is that something that would be determined by a heritage certificate? I have a friend who recently acquired a 61 that is in boxes, be fun to tell him he has a rarity...

Time to wake this one up, again...for those not belonging to the Mini Cooper Register and getting their monthly Cooper World magazine.

The April 2018 issue has another good article by Mini Super Register Garry D***ens. He went to a lot of work to find out where the Austin versions were sold (all were made in England...no CKDs) and has been matching up those he has recorded now. He's working on the Morris versions, as well, but they are a bit harder to track.

Even though he had to shorten his article, it is still far too big for me to post all of it here, but I'll tap away a few of his findings.

"The Mini Super was exported to well over fifty countries." Surprising for a car having so few built over such a short time.

"About 35% of the 8,000 Austin Supers built went for export." Where they went is the interesting part.,

"Canada imported 577 [!!]; Portugal 337; The Federation of Malaya (Penang and Kuala Lumpur) 231; a further 215 going to Singapore; Sweden imported 209; the USA took 175; 148 went to France; Israel took 892; Bermuda 48 cars." "Personal export accounted for 92 cars, the remainder were scattered around the globe in very small numbers."

" Of the 337 Austins exported to Portugal, only 3 so far have been found to survive (although, sadly one of those is currently being broken for spares)."

"This brings me to wonder perhaps, that Canada, having imported the greatest number of Supers, may have at least one or two survivors. I do have one car recorded there but it was first delivered to the USA. If any member reading this lives or has a contact there then I would be very grateful if enquiries could be made on my behalf."

Find the Supers!

Whee, or turned into standard 850s by changing the grille!

Alex, I saw Garry's Cooper World article, so I thought I'd better bring this thread to life again! There has to be more Super's floating around.
