You are correct.  Repair is by replacement.

Hi all,

Had an issue with my '73 (Cooper S conversion) over a month ago where it looks like the lower ball joint failed while on the road at around 5 mph......  I'm in the midst of gathering parts, and bought a ball joint kit among other things.

I'm guessing I will need or order a new hub as there is no way to salvage the broken threaded part on the bottom of the hub, is there?  I looked thru the parts I ordered and realized that is actually part of the hub and not the ball joint kit.
