If you don't like Mokes it's only because you haven't driven one!

Hey, to be invited to a concours show is pretty awesome.  My Dad said it was the best show he has ever been to.  (Glenmore Gathering, cancelled many years ago.)  We felt kinda out of place.  There were million dollar cars across from us.  I still have the display description.

Chuck, thanks for the compliment. Coming from you that means something.

Big Al, not sure that Sarah and I won't both accept an award together but I haven't thought that far ahead. I am trying to think of all the contingency stuff to take since everything has to function. Of course not much to go wrong on a Moke but you never know...

In 1986 my Moke was my only means of transportation.  I know cold weather Moke driving.  Well, needless to say we got a decent snow storm one January day in Knoxville. Driving wasn't that bad, it was pretty fun actually.  However, oncoming traffic moving at a decent rate of speed will throw slush in your lap making your pants look like you wet yourself with on oversized snow cone. That was the day I moved a 2nd Mini up my priority list.

Interesting story from the original owner of the Moke I'm currently restoring. Says he crossed the border into US once heading for Detroit in a snow storm. He was ordered out of the vehicle and into the office. They filled him up with hot chocolate and soup then sent him on his way. True story...

I spent one day and one night at the Moken event.  The weather was pretty cool for Mokes.  I can understand why Spitz may not care for Mokes - however, one the right day, in the right weather, they are unlike anything else on four wheels.  Good to see everyone and glad everyone made it home safe.

They never made a Moke with a big enough heater to be driven in Saskatchewan LOL.

Just got back from Moken around North Georgia with 6 Mokes, 2 English, 2 Australian, and 2 Portuguese Mokes along with 2 Mini saloons and a Mini panel/window van great twisty roads and 1500 miles of bliss towing a pop up tent trailer. You have never experienced a Mini unless you have driven a Moke it is a lot of fun.

If in doubt, flat out. Colin Mc Rae MBE 1968-2007.

No one from Saskatchewan has had that pleasure to date

Nice Mark. Best of luck to you and Sarah against those other micro machines.

That's a fancy pants show! Good luck - I hope the judges know what they are looking at. Your Moke is a big winner no matter what - go show off your stuff!

Good luck, Mark. I vote it first in class even before seeing the other cars! It doesn't belong in a Micro Car Class. It's in a class by itself.
