I know; late to the party but as they say better late than never?  Maybe.

I am in Appleton, WI

I don't drive the Minis during the winter or now.  Actually; I seem to have broken my RH ankle so this weekend I am having a few friends help me put the Minis into the storage for the winter.  It's a working storage/shop so I still get to fondle my Minis and get them ready for the spring fling.  Still, I so very much miss driving them: (

Sixpack7: don't be discouraged by the results here. Only a small fraction of Mini owners are on this board. There are probably a dozen Minis in my area but only 3 or 4 of us are members of this board. Love your Mini and drive it as much as you can. People will want to talk to you about it and many who do either have owned one or knows someone who did. Chat with other owners of British cars - they may know of Minis in your area.

So basically there are only small pockets that are very well spread out and I’m all alone here in corn country except for Vespa400 who is in Iowa. I’m not sure that makes me more proud that I have an uncommon piece of history, or sad that I can’t get together with other mini people. I love looking at other cars to get ideas.

Hey Peter, I do indeed. In fact, it was on track @ Lime Rock yesterday in the wet, and will be at the new track in Palmer, MA, next Tuesday. On a warm day with my slicks on, I can turn a 1:05 at Lime Rock. My favorite corner is the downhill, which I can take flat out entering @ 88 mph. Car is pretty much identical to when you sold it, except for upgraded shocks (KONIs), a Valentine One radar detector, and more aggressive camber settings. Oh, I removed the bonnet stripes to reduce weight.  Still fast as lightning, yet comfortable on the road, and an absolute blast to drive. Mileage is just north of 54k at this point. It sees no action over the winter, which here means November thru April, so no rust underneath at all. Having said all that, I must admit I get more smiles per mile when I'm behind the wheel of my 87 Classic (Japanese spec), 1273cc engine in Island or Surf Blue, depending on who you ask. Nothing beats throwing it into a corner and letting physics take over. But not a car I would take on the track without some serious safety modifications. I'm sure your stable is filled with Austin Healeys; the question is 'How many'? Also assuming you are still guardians over multiple Maine Coon kitties. Hope you and your family, both two and four-legged are doing well down South and that you are enjoying retirement.

Yup, around 10 minutes away, and less than that to Tanglewood. Sounds like you are pretty familiar with the area...

Currently Everett WA.  Looking to move out east a bit to get away from the stupid Seattle taxes that keep creeping north.
