Scott, could you please supply some details on your power steering unit? Who makes it and what model? Does anyone have a LHD power steering solution they can recommend? Thanks.

Scott, I hope things go well with your health challenges...

It's good to hear that your power steering is helping you continue to enjoy your Mini!

As a side note, Scott's light blue Mini was a Mini World cover car in October 2000. I found a new home for it around 2003, then Scott adopted it in 2007 and has really refined it and taken it to the next level!

Here is the cover photo. The same Mini was also used in full-page ads for an insurance company in the UK. (It's on the back cover of Mini World or Mini Magazine. How many Minis can boast being front AND back cover cars!)

Jemal,

Yes it can be trying at times. So, have you sold many? My installed price was just about what MM is asking. Do you know if anyone has it up and working in their car? Had to do all kinds of little mods since my cat is a '73 and left hand drive.

Dan,

Yes you hit it. my upper body strength sucks. Cant lift things, my hands want to open up if I am lifting something like a suitcase. Hard to get a lot of bottle/jar tops off. No fun. When I was younger, I was an avid sailor. My dad had a Choy Lee Ketch. I had a couple olympic class boats. Haven't done any in 35 years. Hope you regain your strength.

Scott: I know what you are going through. My chemo for breast cancer damaged my muscles. Most affected are my arms - occasionally I have not been able to drive my daily driver, which HAS power steering. Never got sailing this summer, and the Mini is still tucked away from last winter. I know the frustration you write of. Hang in... you're not alone.   Dan.

Across the pond i have seen a few Mini's with electric power steering installed off Corsa's.

Never seen a PAS on a mini before but good for you if it allows you to enjoy driving the mini. I once had to fit a servo to the clutch on a mini for a guy suffering from wasted leg muscles, allowed him to carry on for a few more years

Mini's are like buses they come along in a bunch

Just looking if anyone has or knows of anyone who has some form of power steering in their CLASSIC Mini. Just to be clear, I do have it installed in mine , I just want to see if there is anyone else in the US who has it installed in there car.

I have electric power steering. Got it on ebay set up just for a Mini. cost about $350 us including the shipping. BUT it is, like everything else in England made for right hand drive cars. You run into a few small issues if you want to put it in a left hand drive car like mine. Read, nothing money can't fix. It works great. No more muscling my Mini that is lowered on 10 inch Hoosier tires at low parking lot speeds. Due to my physical condition, I barely had the strengh. Now it's a one handed operation. best part is that it has a riostat on the side. Can turn it all the way up at low speeds and down at freeway speeds.
