My Mini is an April 1973 Leyland Australia Window Van.  By this time all Australian Minis had the square or Clubman nose through the end of production in 1978 (though the Clubman name was dropped at the end of March 1973).

The door mirrors are essentially NLA.  They are actally spring loaded to withstand being bumped.  I lost my driver/RH mirror on the Great Western Hwy. running from Bathurst towards Sydney.  Unfortunately the later SS mirror with chromed base & plinth are the closest available, although the mounting hole spacing is different (see pics).

The Vent window glass could be readily replaced by an automotive glass shop, the vent window sealing rubber is +$70 Aus each (ouch) vs MGB at some $15.  All such vent windows are tensioned by a coil spring tightened from the bottom - 5/16" OD fuel piped can be used to replace old rusted sleeves, which were not included in the 2 sets of pins & springs I ordered for the MGB (see pic).

The side window exterior window scraper is cut down from MGB bin item.  The interior door handles are also MGB items...the exterior door handles must be treated with respect - lift in the middle with fingers while thumb is on the centre of the upper surround.  Problem wear arises with the pins eating into the cast body if the handles are just yanked about.

MiniSport Australia, Ebay Australia etc. Aussi prices are high.

I am trying to determine what is correct and what is not on my mini, and which parts I need that I am missing. Also if certain parts are australian specific, and if so, where can I get them?

Off the top of my head,

the grill - mine is a cut down grill, I think. a mk1 grill fits my car, is that correct? I know my front end has been replaced. perhaps with the wrong year?

side mirrors? Mine are chromed plastic on the doors

rear view mirror? mine seems too big for the car, it obstructs my view

wing windows? someone took sand paper to one of mine

wing window seals and roll up window scrapers and channels? Mine are shot!

temperature gauge? Mine only reads half full when grounding the signal wire. have not investigated further, but I may need a new one

door panels and interior door handles?

Bonnet badge?

I'll post some detail pics later!

If anyone has a 73 that could take some pics, that would be great!
