I have just refinished my OZ wiper rack & waiting for arrival of stainless steel gear contact plate & new contact fingers - will see wiper motor & rack completely refreshed for $49 AUS plus some labour, brake clean & paint.

I don't make a point of sniping at other Minis.  Do what works, makes you happy.

And don't forget the proper Australian A-series valve cover, with a map/outline of Australia embossed into it!

just a random thought.  Unless it's an S you're restoring, does it really matter?

and if you're stateside, and it's an Oz car, who would know if it was the correct bit except another Oz car owner?

If the length of wiper screw tube or damage like a kink/ding is a problem, 5/16" fuel line can be cut & flared to suit.  Inexpensive & works for all like repairs/replacement.

I think you need to post some photos ..and any numbers that may be present..... As well as (riveted on) plates, Oz cars have numbers stamped into the metal on the rad shroud and on the firewall (engine side) in front of where the (RHD) driver would sit....

From what has been said it doesn't sound much like a 73.....

Cheers, Ian

I have a 1970 Mini K from Australia it has the MK1 light and all but the wipers seem to be from a Mark II since the wheel boxes are not in the middle. Do I use a Mark I or mark II wiper wheel box? thanks

Australia never got the Mk2 grille, only Mk1, and there were no Oz round nosed Minis made in `73. These stopped production in 1971.
All cars from then until 1978 were Clubman shape, but still with Oz windup window external hinged doors. Minis here stopped in 1978, RIP.

It looks like someone has grafted new front panels on to retro your car. The bonnet is now a Mk1 too, so the hinges needed moving.

 You mean wing Windows,  right?

Here's my rear view mirror,  it's it correct?  It's obnoxiously low hanging,  so I hope it's not correct!

Also still wondering if 73 should have a mk1 or 2 grill.  I think I have the wrong front end on my car definitely have the wrong bonnet,  as I noticed someone welded narrower hinge brackets to the firewall!

Just price comparison to show that more limited numbers of Australian wing mirrors means higher replacement costs.  The OZ Mini & MGB wing mirrors are NOT the same.

Thanks fur all the info guys!  I've been really busy,  but I will definitely be asking more questions when I have time to take some pics and write a more detailed message.

So can mg wing window seals be made to work,  or was that just for price comparison?

Should the door hinges be painted,  or chromed?

Hey Greg!
Welcome to Auzzie Mini ownership!
I can't get to the Oz doors part numbers listing I have right now, but send me an email directly ( in profile ) and I'll reply directly to you with what I have.
Also, which wing window do you need?  I can check what parts I do have for Oz doors and let you know.
Best,
MSH
