The shell is still perfect, the paint great from 10' away, and the Swifty 1460cc still roaring strongly.
Big Al suggested changing the chrome locking strips in the front and rear glass. That ended up tearing the old rubber seals. So new seal and chrome, new skill at installing glass (no breakage) and now good as new.
New classic style LED headlights, LED bulbs in the 700 Series Lucas Flood & Spots giving a very white white light. Changed out the old 3rd brake lamp for a new LED version and replaced various other bulbs with LEDs as well.
Adjusted the Cooper S window chrome trim to sit properly on rivets. Replaced leather straps on boot and bonnet. Replacement heater and speedo cables to be installed.
New chrome trim for rally flairs and lower body line on order from here.....nothing yet on delivery.
Need to tighten up the gearshift supports, bottom shifter cover to work better with 5th gear and get the wooden knob back on.
And then on with the Moke hood install.
I always thought old cars were expensive......then I got an ex-wife

I just opened Pandora's box. Just started down the outer sill line. Yuck, rust, rust and more rust. How does water get into the cross brace? Once it's there it rusts out the floor pan.

Over the years I have had mouse nests and babies in engine compartment and in glovebox. Multiple times.
Someone told me this week that in addition to the traps to add peppermint oil on a rag or cotton ball and place it in the car.
Googling that gets you to ads for pest control services.
