This 1962 Austin Mini Cooper is a refurbished Mk1 modified with a 1275cc engine paired to a 4-speed manual synchro gearbox. Originally Almond Green, the car was repainted in Tweed in 2016 and refreshed with new rubber, lights, grill, headliner, dash pad, carpet, interior trim, and more. A black sound dampening carpet kit was installed, and sound damping was fitted in the door panels and under driver and passenger feet. Other new interior items include a headliner, door straps, padded dash liner, oval binnacle speedometer, and more. All electrical was gone through and all lights, signals, and gauges work properly. Verto Clutch Slave cylinder replaced and new silicone valve cover seal installed. New door and window rubber was installed, including on the handles, hinges, door channels, boot seal, headlamps, and turn signals. New over-riders, grill, grill buttons, mustache, bonnet strap, license plate hinges and lamp, headlamp grills, tail lights and turn indicators, locking aluminum fuel caps and badging were installed. Chrome "S" trim was fitted around the windows and the original 6-piece rigid molding around the wheel wells and rockers was re-installed.
*An upgraded 1275cc inline-four motor was modified with a later-model 4-synchro rod change gearbox. 2nd gear is a little touchy.
*A newer upgraded suspension was installed with GAZ shocks.
*Front brakes have been redone with 8.4" Vented disc brakes and blue calipers.
*5.5x12" Ultralite Mini Black wheels with Yokohama A048R tires.
*Monte Carlo Wheel Arches
*7" Round Halogen Semi Sealed H4 Black Halo Glass Headlight Conversion
*Sumpguard square fronted alloy sumpguard
*Bride Vios III Black Low Max Seats w/ 4 point Tanaka harnesses
I have a bunch of extra parts including two sets of extra sets of seats, tach and housing, wheel arches, car cover.
The car has been garage kept and is titled in California, and the chassis number is listed in place of the missing British VIN plate. Not at all excited to sell this car but circumstances have come up that require I must.
