The MINI Cooper with production dates up to 09/2002 used an 'Intertia Switch' to interrupt power to the fuel pump relay in the event of a crash.
The switch is located in the left rear of the engine compartment. In event of an impact greater than 14g, the switch opens and interrupts power to the fuel pump relay. The Intertia Switch has to be reset manually once it is triggered.
