Stormin Norman's Mini Thunder VII


For the eighth straight year, Mini Mania is excited to announce that we are a primary sponsor and participant in Stormin' Norman's Mini Thunder!  Join us for this all day track event of HPDE (High Performance Driving Event) at the SCCA track in Willows, CA.  Due to popular demand and an expected large turnout the event organizers have chosen to run the newly modified 5 mile circuit. This will permit larger groups without traffic issues. There will be Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, and Race Prep/Coaches. Coaches MUST sign up as coaches and be approved by Eric Diamond or Norman Nelson.

Here is a breakdown of what you need to know:

Event: Stormin' Norman's Mini Thunder VII

When:  Saturday, Feb 13 — Sunday, Feb 14, 2016. Thunderhill will be open Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, you are welcome to come out early and check out the facilities and watch the happenings!

Time: 6am-6pm - Track opens at 7am starting with registration, check-in, breakfast, "All Hands" meeting and car tech inspection. See below for more details.

Where: Thunderhill Raceway Park, Willows CA - Map

Cost: The cost is $275 per single driver/single Mini entrant. This includes loads of track time, turn workers, tow-trucks, flaggers, instructors, lunch, & T-shirts. 

Other details:This event is for MINI/Mini Coopers only, any model or variation. You will see other makes and models entered. These cars are coaches and will be running in the coaches/race-prep group.

7:30AM – 7:50AM Coaches Meeting 2nd Floor 7:30AM – 7:50AM Parade laps on track – No Helmets, 40 MPH max.
8:30AM – 8:50AM All Hands Meeting (Clubhouse)
8:50AM – 9:15AM Group Meeting Intermediate 2nd Floor
8:50AM – 9:15AM Group Meeting Beginner (Clubhouse)
9:00AM – 12:15PM Groups on track for 20 minute sessions followed by classroom instruction (Clubhouse)
12:00PM – 12:45PM Lunch (Clubhouse)
12:45PM – 1:25PM Group Photo (Start Finish) and Parade Laps on track
1:30PM – 4:50 PM Groups on track for 20 minute sessions followed by classroom instruction (Clubhouse)
