I don't think it came with the extra safety catch. They were added later. BTW, someone at MME had a very nice MK1 Morris bonnet badge for sale, just can't remember what his name was.

Funny, if your bonnet came off the first latch (centre) then the safety latch (side) should have held-The only safe method is to have leather tie-down straps- BIG AL

Hello all, new here but not to Minis. Have owned my Morris Mini since the early 70's I just recently took my car out of storage and fixed it back up.(had to because of the price of gas) Waiting to get a new VIN tag from England. Were the numbers on the VIN tag done from the back side? so the numbers were raised, like a reverse number punch? I saw where MM does this service for like 60 dollars and takes 4 weeks. I have the tag coming but not sure what number punches to use. Also took the car on the longest drive since putting it together and hit a pretty hard bump and the bonnet hit the windshield, SIGH:(. Lost my bonnet badge. Anyone have a decent Morris bonnet badge? I was fortunate not to break my windshield! I did bend the bonnet and hinges. If anyone has a decent hood or hinges I might be interested in those too. Dale Ficken 1960 Morris Mini Minor 850 (now MG1098)
