The MOTR (Minis of the Rockies) members are a great bunch, wifey and I attended a meeting there on one trip and really enjoyed Minis in the Mountains in '99 in Colorado Springs after we got there - blew out radiator, water pump, hoses and block heater in the...Jeep on the way down. It was at MITM that wifey heard about MME in Magog, Quebec which started our Mini wanderings over longer distances. VMC associate member nearby too in Auroranear Buckley AFB -former RCAF ground crew retired, now contract employee servicing USAF aircraft. He did transcontinental run in Mini Van in 2000 but does not own a Mini at this time. Mini friends! Mini rides! Restored/modified Mini 1000 with 1380cc power unit, 2.95:1 FD, adj. suspension, S discs/drums, 10x5 Minilites, 165x70 A008s, custom trim and matching custom trailer.

Ah! I drive past every week on my way to the airport. 20 minutes from me. Welcome!

Se7en, my wife is really happy that she will only be a couple of easy days driving from her hometown of San Diego. Goldsboro as well as eastern North Carolina have been nice but we're ready for a change. I grew up in Alaska so it will be nice to be near some mountains again. Whee, I'll be on the east side near Buckley AFB. -Eugene I dig it. Want a Mini Quickie? Another Quickie??

GreenThumb - And then there was MITM '99 in Colorado Springs for the Mini's 40th Anniv. That was a fun event as well. Long drive tho... Enjoy your time in Colorado, Gene. Not to mention the Rockies and the rest of the great west at your doorstep. A hugh change from Goldsboro is an understatement! SE7EN

Make sure you cover your Mini up in the winter as it gets pretty cold! Wow..it's been almost twenty years ago since "89 MMW." Man, how time flies when you drive Mini's!
|
Shoot! 1989? I guess I'm abot 20 years late. Heat without the humidity is going to feel great. I hope it is also better for my mini's sheet metal. Mofiki, are you in the Air Force too? Where in Japan are you headed? Elvis, thanks for the link! I'm looking forward to checking the club out. -Eugene I dig it. Want a Mini Quickie? Another Quickie??

I'll be moving to the Denver area by the end of this year for my job! Me and my family are pretty happy about it. I'm really looking forward to getting out of the humidity and up into some mountains. Isn't there a pretty good classic mini community around there? I seem to remember reading about a club called something like Rocky Mountain Minis or Mile High Minis... I'll be taking my project mini and with any luck I'll get it running again there. -Eugene I dig it. Want a Mini Quickie? Another Quickie??
