I never saw nor heard of a classic mini in Korea, certainly not during the time I was there, not even one owned by a service member. That being said, when I looked at the pics in the link above there appears to be one Paul Smith designer copy (not a purple/green Paul Smith limited edition) there now, can't say if it was brought in by someone or not, been too many years since I have been back to the old country. Steve You will learn more about Minis by driving one for 30 minutes than if you read every book written about them.

mofiki, Kansas is right, I picked mine up near NAF Atsugi, Japan. If Mini's are hard to find in Korea, there are several ferries that run from ***uoka (on the island of Kyushu) to Pusan, Korea. You could: 1. Catch an AMC/ NALO flight down from Osan AB to Yokota AB and make the purchase and register then make the haul down to ***uoka, then reregister in Korea once you have arrived. 2. The other option is to pull the engine and seats. Install the engine inside and crate the car. MPS'ing the seats from Yokota will not cost you anything. Shipping from Japan to Korea is fairly cheap. 3. Contact makoto.wakamatsu@us.army.mi who works at the Army pier at Yokohama. He could estimate how much and who to contact for a move of a Mini from Japan to Korea. If AMC or NALO flights do not line up, you could see if anyone from the Aeroclub at either Yokota or Osan is making the flight. A Cessna can be a tight fit, but it can be done if you are willing to chip in on AV gas. Travis at Guantanamo "Mini - No need to compensate."

My wife was watching a Korean soap last night and the female star was driving a BINI convertible, which greatly surprised me. Used to be foreign cars in Korea were subject to nearly 100% tariff to protect the domestic auto industry. I'm stationed at Yokota right now. If you get Japan as a follow on you'll have no problem finding a mini. I might know a person in Delaware who'd be interested in buying yours if you decide to sell it. Let me know and I can get you his contact info.

I've heard that Korea is a hotbed of Mini nuts. Well, not really but thanks for your service.
