All Japanese spec minis had A/C, at least the later model ones, They have been coming back from japan lately so quite a few around with A/C
I have a 63 smooth roof traveller with a latest edition turned alloy MPI dash and guages, early 90s drivetrain and front subby, so yes folks do have later model stuff in older minis but the bulk of minis that quack like a duck are as they seem, I.E. not the year stated. It just depends if this bothers you or not.

To be fair, modern looking dashes and A/C are not signs of revins. Minis are heavily customized, and not even the late model MPI Minis had A/C from the factory. Anybody can put A/C and a new dash into a Mini of any vintage. I would say though such customized Minis are much more common in the UK than the USA, since US owners view Minis more as "classics" and UK owners view them more as transportation for the masses.

This was one of the hardest things for me to understand when I first started looking at Minis last year. I could not figure out how they had these modern looking dashes and a/c and be from the 60s, then I figured it out and I thought that is really kind of shady because there are some people that just don't know to go on the internet and search and find out the information I did. Regardless that is a very pretty Mini.

Years ago I assisted in the sale of a mini of that color from a well known memeber of the mini community to another, What a lovely color. The price was approx 1/2 of that price, kinda nuts. Oooh I love Morello Purple MPi's! I was drooling over one, debating to buy one new from a Rover dealer a few years ago, but it was a demonstrator sportspack and I didn't like the 13" wheels. I can promise you that with that colour, engine and interior it is most certainly not of 1968 vintage...! Hahaha www.MinisUnlimited.co.uk
