I bought mine in 1988; today I think i would be seriously considering a 123 - unless I had free access to suitable dyno ... and a skilled operator.

the trouble with buying any of the Aldon distributors is, unless you get them to curve one to your specs, you're really rolling the dice hoping that the dizzy's curve somehow luckily matches the curve needed by your particular engine.  I know it's expensive, but the 123 distributor has about 16(???) advance curves programmed into it, is well-documented and has a growing population of people who have experimented with its curves and can probably provide you with guidance.  Just plunking down cash for an Aldon without knowing whether or not it suits your engine's reqts. is money foolishly spent.  That said, many folks do just that.  Good luck !

We have just built up an A+ motor, 020 over, 1293, new crank, new large valve head, Cooper S grind on the cam....

Now I am looking for a distributor, the Aldon Yellow has been widely recommended to me. However my question is will the Aldon Yellow with VAC (27H7768) be suitable for my A+ metro motor? If not a recommendation on an alternative would be appreciated from anyone out there.
