Mini Mania Open House and Lawn Party
by Jerry (Siddhartha) Bradbury
What can transform a peaceful sylvan lawn in Gold Country into a carnival overnight? The annual Mini Mania Open House and Lawn Party of course! Those who were there got to see first hand all the eye candy, but for those who were not, the Mini's ranged from an electric Moke to a VTEC powered Classic, to Randy Steven's tricked out CVT to Robert Holt’s Purple Haze convertible to three full on Mini race cars: my sprint car, Jacques Andres' enduro car and Eric and Colin Herricks's rally car, and many in between.

Race Report -USTCC

by Jerry (Siddhartha) Bradbury
My Mini has a new setup for this race. Speed parts from my sponsor Mini Mania have been added by my sponsor Bay Bridge Motors and USTCC sponsor Nitto has provided four brand new NT 01 tires. This will be my first official race with the US Touring Car Championship and I look forward to hitting the grid with more horsepower and quicker lap times.

MINI Clubman Review

Published: 21st April 2008
The new MINI was launched in 2001, to much acclaim. Although bigger than the original Mini, what it lacked in rear legroom, it made up for in unusual styling and a vast array of personalisation elements, much loved by a local estate agent.

The MINI Clubman has the same raft of options but its main benefit is the extra length, which should make rear passengers happier.

I checked my original dash cards, and found NO holes that match the dimensions of the plaque. Still on the hunt for the origin.

I recently sold a mini traveller that came over from jersey, it had a similar badge but in plastic on the heater, it was held on with 2 small pop rivits to the heater face.

As yours has 4 holes it almost looks like it had 2 chains for a necklace or braclet but obviously that is daft as it would have been mounted to the car in some way, Any small holes anywhere that match the emblem?

Cheers. peter

No more cars left, Westpaminis is now just a memory, Good luck to all those hard working dealers left out there, We can tell you its not easy. We have fully enjoyed meeting all the fine folks we have in the business.

right side? left side? middle? on the binnacle? I would love to get this thing mounted. I'm going to write Jim Pike's site later today.

It is a plaque that the dealership would have attached to the vehicle, like the vinyl stickers so commonly seen on todays cars.  I've only ever seen one that was still in it's original position and it had been attached to the dash with glue and small brads.

Anyone here from the UK, specifically the town of Southampton? Not South Hampton like I originally thought. I can only assume that Carey & Lambert LTD was a distributor of minis? I'm pretty sure my car was built in Longbridge. I would love to dig deeper and maybe find all of the history.

Anyone know where these things were attached?

All I found in my shell was a very long, dried out vine that had been growing inside my passenger side B pillar!

Cool find ! I too was annoyed by a similar rattle in our Mini. It turned out to be a multi wrench in the right rear bin. There also was a crumpled up newspaper which when flattened out was intact and mostly complete. It was an edition of the Otago Daily Times from November 17, 1965.

I gutted the car when I got it. I took every bit out of it, except the door cards and that cardboard flap at the bottom of the bin. (which is where it was).

I would still like to know more about it. Was it attached somewhere? Is it from a dealer? Could it be from the importer? My heritage cert. says my car was a personal import, did they come through the Hamptons?

Inner and outer sills, left and right door steps, left-right-front-rear floors, and inner wings welded in place.  Moving to the boot area, then to the a-panels/front end.  Should have the welding done in 3 more years! :)

Battery Box removed, and rear valence removed.  Time to clean up the rust, and find the holes.

Wow, what a cool treat from a cool car. You must be stoked to go searching for a loose bit and then find such a cool thing like that.

Hello Mark, it's a dashboard supplier plate.

All I found was a yellow dice, mouse nest, and a penny in my mini.

Most of you have heard my story of my mini, stored from 1984-2002. I had a rattle in the door that has bugged me for years. I thought it was the chrome trim on the door bin. Today I pulled the bottom liner in the door. I found two 1969 pennies, and this thing. It says Carey & Lambert Ltd on the top, and South Hampton on the bottom. Below is a link to the only thing I can find about it. I STILL don't know what the heck it is though.

It's the fourth one down
