It's even easier, Spitz? Cool. I wasn't planning on removing the MC for the removal, I need to bleed the brakes becuse I disconnected the brake lines when I dropped the subframe out. I read your post a bit fast and thought you removed the booster, but if I don't need to, that's two more nuts I don't have to remove! And Jon, let everyone see a picture of your mini in 2006.
It looks pretty much the same today except the addition of a few dead bugs and lots of dust. willy

Willy, don't get too crazy about getting your engine back in. You've got a few years, yet, before it "needs" to be in. Just relax, have a beverage, think on it a bit, find other projects that take higher priority... Oh, wait, um, er...

What I'm saying willy is I didn't actually disconnect the booster.....just detached it from the firewall and pedal and lifted it along with the lines out of the way onto the fender...tied it off there. Then when engine was back in..booster can be pulled back in...no lines disconnected, no need to bleed etc. This is the booster I was dealing with. Great! So I can go bleed the brakes, remove the booster, push the mini outside to get washed in anticipation of the rebuilt engine! willy

Willy, When we pulled mine, we unbolted the booster at the pedal box etc., placed a towel on the fender....and just carefully lifted and pulled the whole unit over top of the fender. The lines flex just fine. I ended up putting the motor back in, and having to pull it again...so the brake unit was moved 4 times..the lines weathered it well. No bleeding of the system needed. So I've pulled my engine to have it rebuilt and in the meantime, I've been cleaning up the engine compartment, etc. I dropped the entire subframe and engine out under the car when removing it, and plan to install the engine from the top. Is this possible with a late brake booster in place? Or would removing the brake booster and leaving the MC alone (can be pushed aside a bit this way) give me enough room? I'd hate to take the time to bleed all the brake lines now just to have to remove the MC when I reinstall the engine. I do have a load leveler that I can angle the engine side to side. willy
