What can transform a peaceful sylvan lawn in Gold Country into a carnival overnight? The annual Mini Mania Open House and Lawn Party of course! Those who were there got to see first hand all the eye candy, but for those who were not, the Mini's ranged from an electric Moke to a VTEC powered Classic, to Randy Steven's tricked out CVT to Robert Holt’s Purple Haze convertible to three full on Mini race cars: my sprint car, Jacques Andres' enduro car and Eric and Colin Herricks's rally car, and many in between.

Race Report -USTCC

Infineon Raceway, April 11, 2008.

My Mini has a new setup for this race. Speed parts from my sponsor Mini Mania have been added by my sponsor Bay Bridge Motors and USTCC sponsor Nitto has provided four brand new NT 01 tires. This will be my first official race with the US Touring Car Championship and I look forward to hitting the grid with more horsepower and quicker lap times.

MINI Clubman Review

The new MINI was launched in 2001, to much acclaim. Although bigger than the original Mini, what it lacked in rear legroom, it made up for in unusual styling and a vast array of personalisation elements, much loved by a local estate agent.

The MINI Clubman has the same raft of options but its main benefit is the extra length, which should make rear passengers happier.

the directions I saw said to drill the bottom of the trim, mark the lip, drill the lip, then pop rivet from the bottom only. That way, it won't go anywhere, and you won't see the rivets.

But those metal clips sound like a hell of a better idea.

I continue to use, a commercial black trim, (door trim) get it from any trim shop, black and has the metal "c"clips in the rubber-

Put it on with a rubber mallet- Will not come off, looks good- I pay $2.00 a foot and you will need 9 feet for a mini saloon-

I only have the sill joint strips...which were cooked in the summer heat of 2006 when new and came home from Maryland with duct tape holding them on.  Very simply the spring steel inserts didn't do the job.  A few dabs of silicon fixed that.

Heading home from MME in '06...heading to MME from MMW in Arizona, the strips rode in the Mini LOL.  In earlier situations we pop riveted them on.

 I always used the metal clips like on the seam covers.

my flare strips were falling off my car so i pulled them off and got some new ones.
now that i have them off is there anything i should do to the edge they go on before i put them on?
the paint is all chipped and has bits of old glue on it from the other strips.
