What can transform a peaceful sylvan lawn in Gold Country into a carnival overnight? The annual Mini Mania Open House and Lawn Party of course! Those who were there got to see first hand all the eye candy, but for those who were not, the Mini's ranged from an electric Moke to a VTEC powered Classic, to Randy Steven's tricked out CVT to Robert Holt’s Purple Haze convertible to three full on Mini race cars: my sprint car, Jacques Andres' enduro car and Eric and Colin Herricks's rally car, and many in between.

Race Report -USTCC

Infineon Raceway, April 11, 2008.

My Mini has a new setup for this race. Speed parts from my sponsor Mini Mania have been added by my sponsor Bay Bridge Motors and USTCC sponsor Nitto has provided four brand new NT 01 tires. This will be my first official race with the US Touring Car Championship and I look forward to hitting the grid with more horsepower and quicker lap times.

MINI Clubman Review

The new MINI was launched in 2001, to much acclaim. Although bigger than the original Mini, what it lacked in rear legroom, it made up for in unusual styling and a vast array of personalisation elements, much loved by a local estate agent.

The MINI Clubman has the same raft of options but its main benefit is the extra length, which should make rear passengers happier.

Boo, in the US it varies by state.  The most common regs seem to be car seat up to 40 lbs., then booster seat up to 4'9"  (which is a hoot as that's how tall my wife is!).  The laws in the link HU posted are pretty close to most US states' laws.  Generally (probably always), there is an exception made to safety rules if your car wasn't equipped with whatever from the factory.  For example, you won't get a seat belt ticket for not wearing a seat belt in your Model A.

They're both in booster seats and past car seats, which of course, were fine in the back.

I don['t think so.....
I think the majority of cars here...as anywhere I suppose, don't have shoulder belts in the back(except newer).
A "Booster seat" here is just that...a boost for under 6 or so.....not a "child/baby seat" that would require the anchor and such....is that the kind you have.

I'll be taking the kids to stay with their grandparents in Rochester, NY this summer.  I'd like to go through Ontario on the north side of Erie.  Since I only have lap belts in the rear, the kids will be belted in without booster seats or one will be up front in a booster seat and one in the rear with a belt.

In the US (or at least most of it???), you can get away with that if the car didn't originally come with shoulder belts.  Will I run into trouble in CA or in getting across the border?
