When Rhonnie goes for a ride the NOS bottle comes out and a Kart racing seat goes in, along with a harness. Then she has the option of holding onto the bottle or leaving it at home There's about 3 1/2" of ground clearence, I just got some heavier springs for the front, hoping for an aditional 1/2".

"Godsave the clown" did make it on pages 68 and 71 clear as the Florida day. How much ground clearance on that front spoiler? negative 2"'s? Looks great, great job. Rhonnie must be very uncomfortable when you go out for a ride together. Cheers Don

It's the July issue. It's the second issue to give 8 pages to the cover car, yea! Good eye N.J. A few other things are the big Florida mountains in the background... The sign on the right rear fender (actually the left rear fender that was flipped) has a reflection that should be a reverse of the sign, but when they flipped it, it became the first proper reading reflection. They also had to re-flip the Minissan logo on the seat. My mirror is floating... The bummer for me was loosing the GodSaveTheClown.com sticker. The main reason I went the extra distance from this being a Grassroots Challenge $2008 car to a cover car was to try to get my drug prevention campaign going again. For the last few months of the build I was trying to think of a website name that would get some attention, that would then link to The World's Fastest Clown site. I came up with GodSaveTheClown the day before Iain came, he sat down and laughed his arse off when I told him the name. Maybe more mags will cover it.... Yep. Reversed and shaved. Interesting. The windscreen banner was 'shopped out, but the reflection in the bonnet remains! They stopped too soon. N J "The child is grown. The dream is gone... "

I am anxiously awaiting my issue! I must say that is a scary thing to have come up behind you only to disappear for a second then whip around you and remind you it was there to begin with. Very nice looking machine. I liked all the build photos that you had in the posts. 1966 Austin Cooper S 1965 Triumph TR4A 1965 Triumph Spitfire

I think they've photoshopped out 'GodSaveTheClown.com' off the windscreen? I've heard airbrushing is all the rage for the bestest models! Its the best article by Iain Ayre so far. Great to see the articles was lots of pages long. You deserve it.

too bad the clown is too much of a wuss to bring it to MME this year... maybe he's afraid of crashing it in a parking lot lamp post or maybe i'm just very jealous...

Looks like they took off the windscreen type and flipped it so the exhaust is coming out the wrong side. So they also had to flip the Austin badge around. Did they take off the minissan badge too from behind the front tire?
Is that about it?

I haven't seen the magazine yet, but from the photo of the cover it seems that they have flipped the negative to make it LHD. Most evident is the missing mirror and the window webbing hanging on the wrong side, as well as the exhaust being on the wrong side. Also, they got rid of "God save the Clown" window graphics. Obviously if they flipped the negative they would have had to Photoshop in the front emblem.

The cover does look great, but look closer at it and you'll see some Photoshop at its best. Let's see who can spot all of the changes/mods. There is one huge change which then snowballed into others. When I first saw it my head hurt, it didn't comprehend what it saw. It was also shot about a mile from my house... It does sound great at 6,700rpm, kind of like a high revving GT-1 V8 race car. I get crummy mileage at the expense of a lot of fun and a great sound. No vids yet. Now that it's "done" I'm back to "work" without much time, and I also need to find a place I can run it for a great video. Also working on a display for the bigger car shows and a creative period correct looking sound system (removable). Rhonnie did do a lot and now she's waiting for a shorty to be built....
