Mini Mania Open House and Lawn Party
by Jerry (Siddhartha) Bradbury
What can transform a peaceful sylvan lawn in Gold Country into a carnival overnight? The annual Mini Mania Open House and Lawn Party of course! Those who were there got to see first hand all the eye candy, but for those who were not, the Mini's ranged from an electric Moke to a VTEC powered Classic, to Randy Steven's tricked out CVT to Robert Holt’s Purple Haze convertible to three full on Mini race cars: my sprint car, Jacques Andres' enduro car and Eric and Colin Herricks's rally car, and many in between.

Race Report -USTCC

Infineon Raceway, April 11, 2008.
by Jerry (Siddhartha) Bradbury
My Mini has a new setup for this race. Speed parts from my sponsor Mini Mania have been added by my sponsor Bay Bridge Motors and USTCC sponsor Nitto has provided four brand new NT 01 tires. This will be my first official race with the US Touring Car Championship and I look forward to hitting the grid with more horsepower and quicker lap times.

MINI Clubman Review

Published: 21st April 2008
The new MINI was launched in 2001, to much acclaim. Although bigger than the original Mini, what it lacked in rear legroom, it made up for in unusual styling and a vast array of personalisation elements, much loved by a local estate agent.

The MINI Clubman has the same raft of options but its main benefit is the extra length, which should make rear passengers happier.

Bill, thanks for making an effort to collect my shirt from Ron; especially walking 5 miles from your affluent berkeley group to the deprived side. lol!  thanks again, Bill.

Bill, I had to vamanos quickly, Dad was getting the motorhome out of the mud, and was ready to get out of there. I sent him one, hopefully he gets it soon. I look forward to next year, and having our own tent, and maybe even a cook-out etc. I think we had about 19 cars, so next year we need to top that! Very cool car by the way Bill.

I think you got overcharged, or maybe it was a fuel surcharge the way the Berkley eats up the gas!

macmanron,

Bill Elliot was kind enough to pick up my T-shirt, and I'll pay him for it. Thanks.

(But I have to admit the $50 price was a wee bit high, even with the exchange rate being what it is..)

Don't be too impressed. My avatar picture was taken on a 'good' day, and improved with Photoshop.

You can always register at the show. This is the first year I've preregistered. If you've ever shown a car here before they already have your info and on-site registration is just as quick as pre-registered.

50/50 on whether the wife will drive the Mini up... I may just be there with the Berkeley (which I'm still struggling with...) so look for me at the Microcar group.

Count me in for at least one large shirt. I'll be there Saturday.

Weather looks damp for Friday but decent for Saturday.

If at first you don't succeed, redefine success.

Look for the minis, I think we are all going to try to park together? I'm going to try to be around my car some, and go looking for parts as well. There aren't usually many mini parts there so I should be by the car most of the time. Depends on the weather also! You can also get ahold of me on my cell phone friday afternoon, or saturday. email me for my cell number.

Looks like weather on Friday maybe bad? Rain??? Hopefully sat. will be different. Either way I will be there with the mini and some shirts. I am thinking about printing a couple extra in case someone else wants one at the show. Looks like 6 LG, and 6 XL. Hope to see everyone there. Don't let the weather scare you away!
