Great photos!  Is it just me, or is the smile on that E type crooked?  On the VW, I have never seen one with overhead windows in the front compartment, and figured it was something that was added by the owner.  23 window van would have had the wrap-around windows on the C pillars.  Speaking of Airline coupes, there is a guy in our British car club here in Knoxville with one of them that he restored.  Beautiful car, and only a handfull left in the world.

I believe I stand corrected on the Lusso. Obviously this reminder is better than my memory...

I agree it looks to be a Lusso, but I ain't no expert either.

And when talking Group 44, only their logo had reversed 4's (both of them).  The cars had properly faced 4's (with proper radiused corners of course) and were normally found numbered as "4" or "44" (though the Trans Am Tempest was 49).  Scargo and I spent our formative car years following those guys all around the northeast as they competed with Bob Sharp, Ken Slagle and others.  Then once a year, (for many years) we watched them play at Road Atlanta with the hotshoes from the rest of the country.  Great Stuff.

I'm not sure that is a Lusso, though I agree it's my all-time favorite Ferrari. The c-pillar and backlight aren't like the Lussos I have known (I had a friend who had one.) However, knowing the almost hand-made nature of Ferraris in that era, I could be wrong. The back looks more like a 330 shape, but I am FAR from any kind of Ferrari expert.

Cliff, love the "hood ornament" on the nice early orange 240Z. I have a friend who has an HRG and it's nice to see another one on the road. Is the Porsche 550 real, or a Beck? Wish the Quaker State Triumph had number 44 though, of course with the second 4 backwards.

Thanks, as always, for the shots.

I really wouldn't be all that suprised if Ralph Lauren didn't pull up in his black Bugatti Atlantic just to hang and have coffee. I then wouldn't be suprised to find out there are actually several in the world still and they are ALL in So-Cal.

Great cars.

Do you mean the car between the black Lancia Italia and the red Austin Healey?

It looks like a Caddy to me... does that make it any more acceptable?

Thanks, Sideache!

Arguably the most beautiful and one of the most desirable Ferraris ever made.....the 250 Lusso.

Nephestis,

I believe the car in question is a Ferrari Berlinetta Coupe pre 1965.

yep, absolutely gorgeous. btw, it's a 23 window bus.

herman

It's more of a custom than anything else. A factory 23 window would have only eight overhead windows along with two rear 1/4 windows. And since this is a later production bus my guess is it left the factory with 21 windows. Still a nice looking ride.

I see the HRG there.  It looks a little like an MG TD.  A friend of mine is having his one-off prototype HRG restored.  It is basically an HRG frame and drive train with an Airline coupe body.  Almost identical to the MG Airline coupe.  It's beautiful.  He is working on the interior now, as time and finances permit.  Probably a year or two away from completion.

Quit picking on Mark ... the pictures are what counts and they're great once again.  Thanks for posting, Cliff.  Looked like a dandy day and interesting crowd once again.

And oh ... that's a Caddy, not a Plymouth, Mark.

SWEET!~

I, too wanted to comment on the bus...the owner must be paying you to post it....hasn't it appeared before? WIll he soon be putting it up for sale, and now it's in all of our subconcious memories, having been secretly/subliminially advertised to us

(I'm kidding of course Cliff!)

Awesome pix as always, ..... I wish that kinda stuff took place here..... as I look out the window at the snow. . . .
