New sponsors on board! Haynes donated a bunch of manuals for the raffle. Meguiars donated some product for the raffle as well! And it sounds like we will have a few more to announce in the coming days! If you don't get anything from the raffle during the banquet, it'll be because you lost your ticket! It's an abandoned Marine Corps air base. It's mostly used for automotive testing and as a movie filming location. But there are a few autocrosses held there each year as well. R Prez, Mini Owners of America, Los Angeles

Looks like a lot of rubber is already on the autocross location.
Is that an abandoned air strip?

I noticed it but didn't think it was worth nitpicking that detail. None of the festivities will be in Costa Mesa, but we will be traveling through it on on of our rally runs! The temp difference between the 2 towns is real, depending on the location of the temp sensor used by weather.com. The towns within a mile or so of the ocean are chilled by cool ocean breezes while the towns inland a bit are not. It's not unusual to experience a 10-30 degree temp difference during a few mile drive inland from the coast. Don't ask me why I posted the weather for Costa Mesa below. The hotel is in Irvine but there's only 2 or 3 mile difference between Costa Mesa and Irvine so I don't know why the temperature difference is so great. Kinda makes you wonder about the weather channel website. No one corrected me on the location so I assume that most of the festivities are in Costa Mesa? Don't know, but it looks like it'll be a little warmer than I thought. (note to self: bring cooler for beer) dan | Day | Sunrise | Sunset | Avg. High | Avg. Low | Mean | Record High | Record Low |

I think that list of record temps decided it for us. After the MiniMania 100 degree sauna, we were not about to go anywhere over 85-90, so this is great news and nearly seals the deal. We're registered and have a room, so now it looks like we won't be cancelling. Driving the Traveller down from Santa Barbara.

The discounted pre-registration price of $125 has been extended to May 31. Lots of good things are happening so we thought we would extend the pre-reg deadline a couple of weeks.
