It took over three years to get to this point with the mini. These are a couple of pictures that will be most important to me in life. My dad and I at the local show I have been waiting to take this car to for about three years. It was a very nice day, clouds gave way to the sun later in the day. We had more cars this year than ever, and I received quite a few compliments on my car from quite a few people, and my british car club members. The one thing that struck me funny was that the people I thought would be the ones to compliment me right off hardly seemed to, or wanted to notice my car. They were the other mini owners! Only one of them actually came over to me while I was at my car and talked with me about it! He was an older gentleman who actually started the local mini club. Very strange. Ok, I don't expect some great fan fair, but at least a " nice car" would have been in order? Is it a concourse car? No, but it was just as nice as any of the other minis that were there. I had even considered joining this club, but I think I will pass on that, and start my own. Maybe I am over thinking this a bit? It makes me look forward to Carlisle even more. Nevertheless, I had a great time, my wife and the twins came down, and had a great time. Grant my son(and car nut) stayed with me and we walked around and looked at all of the (as he puts it) Faaancy Cars! He knew which one was daddy's mini, and which cars were pop-pop's too. My daughter went with mommy to go shopping! Mind you these guys are turning three in Aug. Any way: here is a picture of my dad and me next to the mini, and a picture of Grant next to it at home. See you all at Carlisle!
