The microcar club has decided to start formally attending and getting a club tent (last year they were there as a trial and liked it...) perhaps the Miniacs would consider adding to their number? At least you'd be among friends. The Mini/LBC parts here are as plentiful as you're going to see at any Carlisle show... but that's not why I go any. It's just a good time and the kit car crowd makes it even more interesting. (The import tuner crowd that turned so many long time attendees off a few years ago are no longer part of the show, though strangely the Fiero club still is.) I've promised to have my Berkeley there next year. Bill

I go almost every year, sometimes with Mini, sometimes without. What few Mini-specific parts are usually found on Thursday or Friday buy a non-Mini vendor who is a Mini fanatic and who keeps the stuff for his personal use. Over the years he has picked up some gems, including 10x3.5" Cooper S wheels. I try to get there on Fridays and have found a few good pieces such as NOS MK2 taillights. If you get there on Saturday or Sunday you won't find much. meb

I went with my car in 2006 and there were Minis and MINIS at the show but the owners of the other cars were nowhere to be found. It's a fun show but forget about finding any Mini parts there.

I tried to drum up interest last year, and even with my local group HAMOC I was the only one who bothered to show from the club. I was one of 4 Minis that I can think of there last year, and none of the owners were ever at their cars when I was there. I only live about 45 min from there too.
I will probably take my BMW race car this year since the always have a good turnout.

This sounds interesting: Again from the Carlisle website: CLUB TENT
If 25 of your closest friends are coming to the show, why not sign up for a Club Tent – IT’S FREE! That’s right, if you have 25 vehicles registered under one single club name you will receive a FREE 20x20 tent to hang out in all weekend. This will be your own area; therefore you will not need to worry about finding an area large enough to park together each day. Don’t have 25 friends coming to the show - no worries - you can still reserve a club tent with a low $160 payment. If you have any questions please contact toni@carlisleevents.com or 717-243-7855 ext. 121.

I'm going to work very hard on getting my mini done to do this. There were more cars there last year than i had seen in a long time. Keep it in your list o' things to do. Thanks, ron J. 1966 Austin Cooper S 1965 Triumph TR4A 1965 Triumph Spitfire We don't need no stinkin' BMW's

From the Carlisle website: Carlisle Import-Kit/Replicar Nationals May 16 - 18, 2008 The British are coming! There are lots of great vintage imports but when it comes to sports cars most people immediately think of British roadsters. To celebrate these fun cars from across the pond we are going to feature British cars at the 2008 Import-Kit/Replicar Nationals. Special emphasis will be placed on all things British for the weekend but we’re mostly interested in the cars. If you drive a Triumph, MG, TVR, Land Rover, Jaguar, Austin Healey, Aston Martin, Morris, Morgan, Lotus, Jensen, Sunbeam, Bentley, or Rolls Royce, then you won’t want to miss the 2008 Import-Kit/Replicar Nationals, May 16 - 18. ---------------- Its probably something I will try to go to if there are other Minis.

It seems there are always a few Minis at Carlisle. Usually though, some are there for only one day. I'll meet 5 mini guys on Friday then they'll leave. Then another group will be there Sat. and another on Sun.
Maybe some, including me, can physically only stand one 100 mile trip in a Mini, during a single weekend
Good idea about trading parts.

I never thought the Carlisle Import/Kit car show, was that big on Brit stuff and especially minis- But carry on, you might get a dozen or so minis if you really persist- BIG AL

I'll be there this year Ron, but in lieu of the Mini, I'll be there with the Bugeye. This years Carlisle Import show coincides with the Sprite Jubilee celebration which takes place from the 16-20th. There are some official Jubilee events tied in at Carlisle. It looks as if I've even been able to coax our old pal Geoff Lotman to join in. See you there.

Last year I saw a couple of nice minis at Carlisle, Pa. for the import show, and was thinking it would be great to get East coast minis togther there. An informal get together, since MME is way up in New England. We could all bring some parts that others need and have a "mini" swap meet there. I actually went up with my pops and stayed fri. night till sat at the on site camping area. That was a little costly, I'm not sure if there is a campground nearby or not. I hope to have my car done by then, and plan on driving it up following my pops motorhome. Just an idea? 1966 Austin Cooper S 1965 Triumph TR4A 1965 Triumph Spitfire We don't need no stinkin' BMW's
