these are the 2 inch balls and feel ok to me. i have had an 8 ball for a couple of years and it is fine. were your ones the larger type maybe?

Not to Pi$$ on your parade but l have had 2-3 of these from when they were offered before but l never really liked the feel of them -Just too large to feel comfortable- But you know what they say "small hands BIG ..................." BIG AL

Had the '8' ball screwed and glued onto the spindley shift lever of my Renault Caravelle back in high school. To go along with it I had a plastic skull perched on the back shelf. How 'American Grafitti' can one get? Cheers, Craig

If someone was to be serious about mini shift knobs they would pay VERY close attention to the rubber isolation on the originals. I have been given beautifully handcrafted shift knobs that were intolerable because of the noise they gave off above 70 mph. This means they can't even be used in city driving.

probs should have said aswell...$15 inc postage to the lower 48 states. anywhere else and i will have to check postage. I am willing to ship anywhere by the way at cost. i also except paypal.

I currently have a HURST style T shift on mine. sorry no pics. the pool ball will be great for the race car. Miniboo if you can do it for less then 10 plus shipping just put me down for the #9 it is because of color only it will match the car. and the extra large size will make it easier to catch while racing.
If it breaks, Improve it !

 There are plenty of pool ball shifters on e-bay. The first link gives you any choice of ball. The last three are extra. I have seen several Harley's that utilized pool balls for several uses. Suicide shifters, axel bolt tips, etc. Nice converstion piece for a motorcycle or a pick up truck, but I wouldn't think of it Mini. I like no shifter knob at all, and I sharpen the threads, driving a mini should be painful to fully enjoy the experience.
Actually I put on a coopersport gear knob and larger leather/ally steering wheel on the 65 and it makes it SO much nicer to drive, You don't have the stupid rubber tiny gear know moving about when you try to shift and the tiny steering wheel you have to yank around to turn.

I have a real billiard ball knob on my MKIII.
Compared to a normal Mini knob, I find them to be a huge improvement to the original one. They give more weight to the gear level, which makes shifts more precise. Phil

actually they dont look as big as you would think once fitted. here is a pic of the 8 ball in my old mini
