I'm working on bringing the dooderwear team out this year.
Can't bring the mini but at least I can bring lots of things with minis on them.
Stay tuned.

We'll have to run around and count them quickly because a number didn't stay for the group photo in 2002.

The biggest MMW ever was hosted by MOALA in 2002. From what I was told, there were over 150 entries at that event. We expect to beat that number this year. How many classic Mini's? Who knows! Our club regularly gets over 40 classic Mini's at our club events. I think Cliffs quote of 100 is rather conservative. I really hope I can make it to MMW08. I've still only attended one Mini gathering (The Fall Vintage Classic at Laguna Seca) but it was enough to make me want more, more more! Between the cars and the Mini people I was in hog heaven. Not to mention the drive down and back up to San Jose with Dr Dave was a blast too! ---------------------------------------------- My Higher Authority is the German Purity Law of 1516 .

Thanks for the registration and for the suggestion. You are absolutely right. I'm sure we'll hold registration open for a good bit longer than the formally scheduled time. Hotel booked, registration in the mail.. one comment, Hotel checkin time is 4:00, registration shows from 12-4 and nothing after that... you may want to plan on having registration open longer for the first evening.. I know we will not arrive between 12-4..it's a long drive! Mini Mike. ..... - MOKE being Driven! minimikebc.tripod.com www.victoriaminis.com

The extra $20 is not needed. Your guest can come along on all events for free and ride in your event registered car. If they purchase a 'guest' ticket, they are then also welcome to meals (lunch and banquet) as well as participate in the banquet and other raffles. So for instance, we will be stopping off for lunch in the middle of the saturday rally. If the individual in your passenger seat does not have a guest entry, they won't get to participate in that lunch unless they purchased a seperate lunch ticket (avail at the event). As someone involved in organizing a large car event (AMVIV), I don't think that $125 is out of line for what you're getting. At AMVIV we went the other way and have a $25 registration that basically gets you entered in the raffles and gets you the event book and a few giveaways. Dinner tickets, state park entries, shirts and so on are ala carte, and I've had several payments approaching $300 for a family. Organizing something like this is a huge amount of work and the locations you have to deal with are rarely free. Id be already signed up if I wasn't going to be in Missouri all the week before. Flying back into Vegas on Friday night and then getting into the Mini for a 5 hour drive wuoldn't make for the funnest weekend. I'd be too tired to enjoy it. Next year, hopefully.

Emmaco, I will be more than happy to explain... The event is being held in the city of Irvine, which is located in the heart of Orange County, California. This is one of the nicest areas in So California. The main event is being held at the Irvine Marriott Hotel. This is a top notch hotel which is located minutes away from some of the best attractions California has to offer (check www.minimeetwest2008.com for details). All the parking is included in the registration costs (the parking charge is usually between $8-10/night). We have made arrangements with the hotel to have a large dedicated area for all the festivities, the pool will be open late for us, the hotel will have a bar set up at the car show, the banquet and the pool. Our banquet is being held in a brand new dedicated building on the hotel property. The winning cars will be displayed at the banquet. We have also planned for some additional entertainment for the banquet. In order to secure this area we had to commit a substancial amount of funds. We have also reserved a very large area for the Autocross (the cost for this type of an area is very high) which is located minitues from the hotel. There is a substancial cost with securing this type of an area for this event. It is also being held in the heart of Orange County and not somewhere in the boonies. We have looked at the option of having the meet in a location that is not as nice and offering less, but made the decision that the extra $25-30 is well worth the difference (I paid $95 for the last meet I attended). Please keep in mind that the area in which the event is held is one of the most expensive areas in the entire country. Hope that explains it! ...and I hope that you come out and join in the festivities! Boris MOALA VP

I'm sure MOALA can explain, but I expect to pay the full registration fee because I will drive my Mini +1,100 miles each way to attend and will take part in the whole Mini Meet, every event, every venue. Hope you will come too!

$125 seems excessive. Is there something special about the venue to justify it? Truth is not determined by majority vote.

All those Minis and Cars and Coffee. In spite of the amazing cars that usually show up, I bet 50+ Minis ("classics" would draw the biggest crowd!
