Mike, at 6 PM on the 3rd there's the "Moose & Squirrel Run"* to Rangeley for the 9 PM fireworks, about a 1.5 hour drive. *name derived from the old Bullwinkle cartoons Mr Bean's uncle was a machinist.

Hey, thanks Howard...we had no idea whether it meant driving your cars around looking for the best pub or what !? LOL I have another question...my wife has been after me to ask...Neither of us has been in the USA for July 4th....so...even in small towns like Bethel, Maine, are they liable to have a good fireworks display, or should we (either just my family, or a group of Minis) plan to head to Portland or somewhere for a show.?? ~ 30 minutes in a Mini is more therapeutic than 3 sessions @ the shrink. ~ Mike NB, Canada

According to Faith...."The Pub Quiz is played in teams with rounds of questions. Those teams answering the most questions correctly win prizes per round and overall. It’s a lot of fun, especially when combined with a few pints!"....

This is the exact same wording that has been used on numerous prior MME registration forms, as well as the WME/04 form. If you've registered for any of those past Meets, perhaps you missed that part of the fine print at the bottom of those forms. According to Faith Lamprey, the event organizer for NEMO ....."Everyone can rest assured that we will not be sharing their personal information with anyone".....

I noticed that the registration form is now posted on the website. I started to read through it and was floored by the terms and conditions at the bottom. 3) Give permission to use any information, photographs, or video information obtained prior to and at event for publication, promotional, advertising, or video filming. So, my address, email, bank account number (if paid by cheque), and insurance company information can all be published anywhere for any one. Handed over as part of a promotion by any one or any organization, or used in advertising in any form? This is a massive privacy invasion with our personal data. But the wording clearly gives you that right. I don't think most would have issue with name, car type and year and perhaps a couple pics snapped at the event pop up on a results page somewhere on the 'net. But the rest? I would expect that data to be kept private, and just used for registration purposes. How about a revised wording to keep personal data private? Actually, out of the block of 186 rooms, the only accomodations that remain at the host hotel as of today are "Studio Deluxe" units, and there's not many left. These units are comprised of a full kitchen, and a living room which contains a pull out queen sofa and a queen murphy bed. No seperate bedroom is included. Daily rate including tax is $93.22.

We booked a three bedroom suite in August2007. There were only 8 available in the hotel. We booked from Wednesday night so we can celebrate Keith's birthday at MME .Most meets are between July 1 and 4. The reason for this is so that both Americans and Canadians could take advantage of the statutory holiday. Seeing as this is really close to Montreal we have a lot of Mainly Minis Montreal members planning on attending. So many in fact that we have moved our July meeting back one week. By paying half down before and the balance two weeks before arrival the resort guarentees the reservation. therefore they should be ready to deal with the influx of Mini owners.
there is a campground nearby as one of our members has reserved to stay there with his motorhome... then he'll commute in his Mini 850.
Looking forward to the snow melting... currently --23 celcius....I hate January!
See you in Maine.

"The Inn at Rostay" is a decent place near Sunday river, if you get shut out of the resort lodging. I stay there every time I go to the Maine Forest rally.

Tori...you are correct, you did miss something. MMW is in late June and MME is in early July. You're getting your events mixed up.
