I just welded the "sandwich" together. it had the rubber going bad and iot will still have the 4 bolts to be able to remove both the mount itself and the engine/shifter.

You're correct Ian the Austin America and the MG1100 used the sandwich plate.  Since the engines/transmissions from these cars became "organ transplant donors" for the Mini they are found there as well.

The sandwich pieces belong the Austin Americas. On Minis, the remote is attached to the diff housing using 4 bolts in a more or less vertical orientation without any intermediary part.

The rear of the remote attaches to the cylindrical rubber mount shown earlier in this thread, the central bolt then attaches to an L shaped mount which in turn is bolted to the floor.

Cheers, Ian

yes martin that looks good. any added vibration that you can tell?

Just as a side note the exploded diagram shows a half moon seal between the tube and the sandwich why? there seems to be a rather large hole right above that that the linkage goes through.

thinking I will cut a hockey puck to fit in and add some form-a-gasket. just because it came with a seal for a reason.

its the other end of the shifter I am having issue with. but I am just going to weld it solid sort of. plan is to weld "tabs" on all four sides just to hold it in place. not going to take the rubber out (only what burns off). I think that the metal out of the engine plate (clutch side) should be heavy enough. I have the one out of the AA that I have no use for and might as well cut it up. unless I can find in my stash of bit something that will be easier to use. (the point is not to buy more stuff)

That looks great Martin. I think I remember you posting that awhile back and thinking that is not $90 of time and materials...

I made a couple of alluminium brackets to rigidly fix it. The rubber in between is just to keep the dust out.

Both sides AIN'T the same!

While I was at it I also drilled & tapped the remote housing for two grease nipples to lube the shifter shaft.

Martin.

My mind's made up - don't bother me with facts!

FYI, remove the exhaust, so you can remove the 3 bolts holding the bracket. No special bolts, just re-use the ones removed.

Thank You in advance!

Stieve

The wish list price from December was 89.95 for this part C-22G245.

This is the replacment for the rubber sandwich used between the remote extension and the transmission. Other mounting pieces are the same as the standard remote as far as I know.

well I really don't know for sure yet

this is the car the 1275 remote came out of.

of course the engine mounts were not quite the same so I am using the ones out of my car.

as for the mount for the shifting housing it came with this

and attached to that was what appears to be a square block that seems to line up with the holes in my floor. we will get back to you on that when I try to install. I do also have an adaptor that is susposed to work.
