N E M O (New England Mini Owners) are pretty quiet about the upcoming MMEast show- Hopefully they are busy, getting their act to-gether and providing a great venue and show- I remember back in 1998 at Seekonk MA, crappy venue, traffic routes all under construction in every direction-A/C at main host hotel crashed for most of the meet-unbearable-However l did sell my first mini at that show- I'm told it will be much better this year- BIG AL

Mainly Minis Montreal will be there in great numbers. This is the closest MME will be to Montreal in a while. The Low exchange rate is also a factor. I know for sure that Keith and Karin Calver, Me and Keith, Denis and France, Marcel and Aida, Martin, Normand and his family, Paulo and his wife, Al and Bev, Paul M and a friend from Kingston, and the list goes on. We will be meeting at two locations to join up at Denis' before having a bbq lunch and heading south. The snow is melting. There is grass under there somewhere. Just had a phone all from "Little AL Derenzi" in North Bay Ontario- Tells me, he and Bev are coming down to Bethel ME for the meet- He has missed all of the MMEast events since Rockford IL and is really looking forward to coming- He will be driving his A/C 1980(?) white mini pick up and if anyone wants any free info on putting A/C n a classic mini, he is the guy to see- BIG AL_

Hmmm.... Bill is an interesting person to talk to, but there was a distinct downturn in customers when he plonked himself down on a chair on our trade stand in Frederick. Might give that option a miss.
Maybe you could room with him, and the two of you could put on the "Big Al & Honest Bill Car Sales Show" in the parking lot of an evening ! Metric is for people who can't do fractions.

ALEX- In the spirit of International good will, then you and Jim probably wouldn't mind leaving Columbia S C and swinging thru Earl N C and picking up Billy Bob and bringing him along to S/T- Seems he has sold all his minis and only has his Morgan left to drive- And it would give a whole new meaning to "24 hours of fun" BIG AL-

Dean - Suzy will almost certainly be flying in to Burlington VT and driving the few miles across to Bethel, maybe you two could meet up at the airport and share a car ? You might even be able to share a room with Jim.
Jim & I will be driving up from SC in the truck, and there's 24 hours of fun to look forward to... Metric is for people who can't do fractions.

http://www.sundayriver.com/summer/directions.html EDIT: and here's the latest room info from NEMO... ...."As of last Friday we still had about 20 rooms left at the Jordon. More rooms and suites are available at the Grand Summit which is a few miles away, but still on the Sunday River property. So if folks want a suite or other type room, they can get one at the Summit"....

Here's a couple of answers from Faith, to some of the recent questions: .....Closest airport to Sunday River is in Portland, ME. Logan in Boston is also not far and probably easier for more flight options. I attached some directions from the Sunday River website to give people a better feel for where it is and how far it is from places. It will be on our website soon as a download.
Saw the notes about the fireworks on the 3rd. Bethel is a small town and does not have its own fireworks display. Rangeley has the largest display in the area and theirs is on the 3rd so we have scheduled that so folks can get to see the show if they so desire. We are trying to arrange for a separate viewing area for us to avoid some of the traffic problems, but we do not have a confirmation on that yet.
Thanks so much for continuing to monitor the Mini Mania site and getting back to me with questions. Folks can always e-mail me directly at nemo@auroratechedi.com.
Faith....

I have noticed in the past several years the fireworks shows have been set up for convienence not for the date. Last year the fireworks at MME were on a Sat. even though the 4th was on a Wed. The Stars and Stripes Mini Page

I'm sure someone will bring some firecrackers but no, NEMO is not hosting a display. If you mean on the 4th itself, it varies town to town. Mr Bean's uncle was a machinist.
