Mini Mania Open House and Lawn Party
by Jerry (Siddhartha) Bradbury
What can transform a peaceful sylvan lawn in Gold Country into a carnival overnight? The annual Mini Mania Open House and Lawn Party of course! Those who were there got to see first hand all the eye candy, but for those who were not, the Mini's ranged from an electric Moke to a VTEC powered Classic, to Randy Steven's tricked out CVT to Robert Holt’s Purple Haze convertible to three full on Mini race cars: my sprint car, Jacques Andres' enduro car and Eric and Colin Herricks's rally car, and many in between.

Race Report -USTCC

by Jerry (Siddhartha) Bradbury
My Mini has a new setup for this race. Speed parts from my sponsor Mini Mania have been added by my sponsor Bay Bridge Motors and USTCC sponsor Nitto has provided four brand new NT 01 tires. This will be my first official race with the US Touring Car Championship and I look forward to hitting the grid with more horsepower and quicker lap times.

MINI Clubman Review

Published: 21st April 2008
The new MINI was launched in 2001, to much acclaim. Although bigger than the original Mini, what it lacked in rear legroom, it made up for in unusual styling and a vast array of personalisation elements, much loved by a local estate agent.

The MINI Clubman has the same raft of options but its main benefit is the extra length, which should make rear passengers happier.

2 items out, 3 items in (and a picture) and it is on its way to Ash00 in Calif (sorry fopr holding it for so long.... won't get in to all the excuses!). Then it should be headed across the border to Bubba D. It was definitely a hoot getting it and seeing what was inside. I wouldn't mind adding my name back on the end of the list somewhere to see how it evolves.

Well, I didn't get a response from ash00, so it looks like the grab bag will be making a trip back up to Canada. I'll be sure to label as antique car parts with a $20 value to avoid duty charges. I'll look to get it out next week to Bubba D in Alberta (assuming same address as previously in this post is OK?). The list I have from here on out is:

~Bubba D~ (Alberta) Joltfreak (Ontario) swindrum (Victoria BC) mini_fly (Alberta) Mart! (Montreal) Dean2 (IL) danperkins (IN) Martin Greenbank (ID) Macmanron (DE) Doss (US, state?)

thanks, bentonre

Well, I got the grab bag the day I left for Christmas vacation. I just got back and opened it up. I'll probably take one or two items and replace with more. I hope to get it back going in a couple days. It looks like ash00 is next on the list unless I hear otherwise. Happy New Years to all! Be safe!

Ok Folks,

I gather, from recent posts, that Beau's Grab Bag is now leaving dooderopolis in OK, and headed towards me in AZ.  Also noted from those posts is that surpip did not get a chance to spend any quality time with the box, and passed the opportunity to me.

The previous listing of persons wishing to be included in the box's route is as follows:

Elvisthepizzaman (CO, done)

dooderopolis (OK, done)

bentonre (PA)

surpip (OK, almost)

Mabeita (AZ, soon)

ash00 (CA)

Then there was a request for a "Canadian Loop" and those with requests are as follows:

~Bubba D~ (Alberta)

Joltfreak (Ontario)

swindrum (Victoria BC)

mini_fly (Alberta)

and Mart! (Montreal)

And then two final requests from persons in the U.S.

Dean2 (IL)

danperkins (IN)

Being that I have been sent the box out of order, I will be sending the box to bentonre as soon as possible, and picking up the original order again.  The box should then bounce back to surpip in Oklahoma, and then on to ash00 in California, before taking the northern bypass into Canada.

I have plans to be out of the country for Christmas, so I will be forwarding the box to the next person, on or before the 14th of December.

Thanks to everyone for the contributions and patience.  I hope that I can add something useful or needed to the box.

I had to pay to get the box.

And I have committed a major screw up and sent the box out of turn to Arizona.

sirpip came by the shop and looked through the box but didn't want to hold up the progress. So I am sending it on its way.

Commence the stone throwing.

I sent the 20$ ahead for shipping and the box is heavy enough that its about that much, although I did take out a couple of heavy items and replaced them with liter ones.

I think what is happening now is the recipient of the package just pays the postage when sending to the next person.  No need to send $20
