Phil Wicks Golden Jubliee

Dear MINI/Mini Owner --

 

The Phil Wicks Ultimate Mini Driving Academy will be at Laguna Seca on Wednesday, December 14.  The activities will begin on Tuesday, December 13, at the Embassy Suites on Monterey Bay with pre-registration and opening reception.

 

This event marks the Golden Jubilee for Phil Wicks, celebrating 50 years of motorsports. Information about Phil can be found at the website www.minidriving.com. Driving tuition will be offered for novice (never been on a track) and intermediate (some track experience).  There will also be track time for experts.

 

A demonstration race that will be the precursor of the Phil Wicks Racing North American Mini Cooper Championship Series beginning in 2006 will also be held.

 

A concours event will be held at the track with a separate registration.  All information is on the website.

 

The event includes an opening reception at the hotel on December 13, track tuition at Laguna Seca and a gala award banquet and concert back at the hotel on December 14.

 

Participants will receive the opening reception, an event t-shirt and dash plaque, souvenir program, lunch at the track, goodie bag, and on-track tuition at Laguna Seca.  The banquet is an extra cost of $40 per person.

 

Spectators are encouraged to attend the track event, as well.

 

The host hotel is Embassy Suites at Monterey Bay (831-393-1115).  The hotel has a block of suites set aside at the special rate of $109 per night for the event.
