MINI Motorsport Awards Program 2006 Season
The Classic Mini has had a long-standing tradition of motorsports involvement over its 40+-year history winning multiple Monte Carlo rallies as well as continuing to be a presence in GT LIGHT. MINI USA wants this tradition in motorsports to continue for the new MINI Cooper and MINI Cooper S. To support the drivers and these dynamic vehicles, MINI USA would like to present the following awards for 2006.
Overview:
The MINI USA Awards program (MINI Awards) is specifically tailored to recognize the accomplishments of private MINI entrants in U.S. motorsport competition. Awards can be earned by placing in any of the series and classes highlighted on the attached sheet.
Guidelines:
The MINI Awards program is open to all participants driving entries permitted by this program and specified in these regulations. Drivers must be holders of current competition licenses as required by the race organizers and sanctioning bodies for participation in their respective events. Permissible entries must consist of integral MINI vehicles and not merely enhanced by MINI parts.
In order to be eligible for MINI Awards, entrants must be running at the finish and be deemed in compliance with post event technical inspections. The private MINI race team will earn the MINI award payment, not the individual racecar driver. “MINIUSA.com” must be prominently displayed in capital letters on both sides as well as centered on the front of the vehicle in a highly visible location.
All MINI race teams competing must provide MINI, a Division of BMW of North America, LLC with photographs of the team trailers, racecars and any other significant racing equipment that displays “MINI”, the “MINIUSA.com” logo or the “MINI Wings” logo. These items are created by the racer to best fit their car and are not supplied by MINIUSA. Please forward digital pictures of the trailers, cars, etc. to Susan Lee at susan.lee@miniusa.com along with your first award submission or any subsequent submission where the paint or appearance of the car has changed or if you are using a different car. Please keep pics under 100K. MINI has the right to withhold all awards funds until this is provided and approved.
MINI reserves the right to withhold awards payments to teams that do not support MINI brand standards and values deemed appropriate by MINI. Note that any use of the MINI trademarks is subject to review and must be displayed tastefully and appropriately. In the event race teams fail to do so, MINI reserves the right to withhold award payments.
Award Payment:
To claim your Awards payment, please mail or fax a copy of Official Race Results indicating your standing to the following address. Results must be received within 4 weeks of the race date to be considered for payment and you must include the time and place of the competition. Please allow 6 weeks to receive your awards bonus.
A minimum of legal finishers in each class is required to be eligible for contingency awards. FIVE finishers - First place only; EIGHT Finishers - 1st and 2nd; TEN or more - 1st, 2nd, and 3rd; A minimum of 10 legal finishers in each class is required to be eligible for contingency awards in Speed World Challenge. USTCC, and Grand Am Cup.
Please note that private MINI teams can collect more than one award payment per race event or round depending upon final results. For example, if a team fields 3 MINIs in the Grand Am Cup and finishes 1,2,3 they are eligible for all 3 MINI awards payments. The only points used in determining the year-end champion will be that of the sanctioning body of each series.
Finishing bonuses are defined as finishing the race AND completing at least 80% of the class winner’s total lap quantity.
