Replacement front pads for the Stoptech Big Brake Kit on either the MINI Cooper or MINI Cooper S.
The AXXIS Ultimate Performance Street brake pads feature a special Kevlar® and ceramic strengthened formula with a high co-efficient of friction and very high temperature fade resistance. As with all AXXIS brake pads, the Ultimate brake pad is a non-asbestos formula.
Designed for extreme high performance street driving and hard braking applications in both the MINI Cooper & MINI Cooper S, Ultimate brake pad users will benefit with extreme stopping power and high resistance to brake fade at high temperatures. Consistent throughout it’s operating temperature range, you’ll get dependable, predictable stops time after time in either your MINI Cooper or MINI Cooper S. AXXIS Ultimate is a High Performance Street brake Pad - NOT FOR TRACK USE.
The venerable Hawk Blue is a racing or track pad with the temperature range of a club race brake pad, very high rotor wear at cooler temperatures, and low to moderate rotor wear when warm. You can also expect a stable torque curve, good bite, and a MOT of 1,050°F. It works well for track use on both the MINI Cooper and MINI Cooper S in the front of front engined cars for less experienced drivers, but advanced drivers can overheat this pad on medium to high mass vehicles.
The Pagid RS 4-4 brake pad (Orange) is a club race brake pad that has a level of friction, fade resistance, and maximum operating temperature that is significantly greater than a high-performance street pad, but significantly below a true race pad for either your MINI Cooper or MINI Cooper S. The brake pads are rotor-friendly with a predictable, flat torque curve. Orange brake pads have an MOT of around 1,050°F. StopTech cannot recommend it for street use on either your MINI Cooper or MINI Cooper S, as it can take a couple stops to come up to operating temperature. It is commonly used on the front and rear of Porsche track cars, and is a popular pad for lapping days on the front of front-engine cars that are still running street tires.

If your brake wear warning light is illumninated, see repacement sensors.
Brake fluid should be replaced every 2 years, more often for track cars. See ATE Super Blue for replacement brake fluid. ATE Super Blue is a high quality performance fluid that will last much longer than the standard DOT4 fluid. This is an ABS friendly fluid.
