EBC YELLOW STREET/TRACK PADS
Although a full race material and capable of high temperature use with very good wear life, this new formulation sets a new trend in race type brake pad compounds that can be used on the highway. The “bite” from cold is superb which is uncommon with race materials (normally requiring warm-up) and makes this a pad which can be safely used on both street and track.
This new formulation has been used by numerous championship race and rally drivers and is truly a milestone in brake pad material development. Nominal friction coefficient 0.5 with zero rotor damage and similar dust to original pads.
* Grip Positively From Cold To Blistering Temperatures
* Pre-Selected For Race Use Or Truck/SUV Street Use
* Strong Resistance To Fade Under Load
* Totally Resistant To Rotor Vibration
* Shimmed; Chamfered; And Slotted
* Features EBC Brake-In Coating For Fast Break In
* Accepts factory brake wear sensor
Some BRAKE DUST is inevitable from every brake pad and it is impossible to totally eliminate dust otherwise brake vibration will occur. We never advertise ZERO DUST we only advertise LESS DUST and we appreciate that in some cases dust will be almost the same as original pads. However, please note that dust is always more severe in the first 1000 miles of driving especially if pads were fitted to partly worn rotors. Another condition which promotes significant dust is wrong pad compound choice. If you have a car with over 200bhp (horse power) or drive above what we might call a spirited street level, for example green pads would not be suitable and red ceramic, being a slightly harder pad, can handle these higher speeds and loads and gives off less dust … there may be cases of overload where the Green pads are carbonising in use and a higher spec pad (Red Ceramic) is needed. Yellow compounds are a fantastic brake, probably our best but they are equal in dust to Original parts and should not be chosen if a low dust pad is what you need. Our CLEANEST pads are RED CERAMIC for sedans.
Brakes are a safety critical part of your vehicle and should be installed by a competent mechanic following vehicle manufacturers installation procedure. The surface of these brake pads is coated with a red coating known as BRAKE-IN. This coating helps your newly installed brake pads to 'seat' or bed-in quickly. However, pads should be used gently for the first 100 miles until optimum braking is observed.
Rotors should be replaced with new when installing new brake pads. Failure to do so can result in brake noise as well as reduced braking efficiency. Avoid contamination of pad surface with any forms of grease that you may use to lubricate caliper sliders.
EBC Yellowstuff pads can be used with either plain, drilled or slotted discs, although the use on slotted discs will slightly reduce lifetime.
Follow manufacturers bed-in procedure for proper operation.
Manufacturers Warranty statement: Please note THERE IS NO WARRANTY whatsoever for any EBC product used in Rally, Racing or Trackday, (Trackday use is tougher on brakes) because of the very demanding environment of racing. Loads ,speeds,track length and format and especially driving styles can vary immensely and can dramatically affect pad life . Standard brake systems even on modern cars are not normally designed for racing and may be totally unsuitable for race use. Simply changing to what we call a "Race formula" pad does not provide you with a race car.
Acquaint yourself safely in a test mode to evaluate if any material you use for racing is suitable in terms of braking power, fade resistance and WEAR LIFE. Monitor wear carefully every few laps when first applying products to race or rally cars to avoid an unforeseen short life issue. In spite of the fact that EBC brakes has had many successes in race use of its products no one pad can solve all brake issues and requirements.This race tech advice is a completely free service given by our race technical staff on our UK hotlines. MINI recommends the brake fluid be replaced every 2 years, more often for track cars. See ATE Performance Brake Blue. ATE® DOT 4 Racing Brake fluid is an ideal choice for handling the high demands placed on your MINI's brake system, regardless of whether you are involved in autocross, road racing or high performance street driving.
ATE® Brake Fluid has a dry boiling point of 536F and a wet boiling point of 396F which far exceeds standard brake fluids meeting the DOT 4 requirements. This fluid is NOT SILICONE and is compatible with conventional brake fluid. 100% synthetic fluid is specifically designed to resist the high temperatures of racing brakes and yet very suitable for daily driving.
