Mini Cooper Ipod™ G3 Interface Adapter Kit - Mini Cooper & S

Mini Cooper Ipod™ G3 Interface Adapter Kit - Mini Cooper & S

Mini Cooper Ipod™ G3 Interface Adapter Kit - Mini Cooper & S
Created exclusively for MINI Cooper & MINI Cooper S, this Apple iPod® adapter lets you play uncompromised audio right from your iPod using your MINI Cooper's stereo controls. On top of that, your MINI Cooper or MINI Cooper S powers your iPod and recharges the iPod batteries while you're driving. Device connector can be located in the glovebox.

Allows Apple iPods to be controlled through the factory MINI Cooper radio and steering wheel mounted controls. Does not work if factory MINI Cooper CD changer, satellite radio, or hands free phone system is installed as it connects through the same port on the back of the radio. If this factory option adaptor was not ordered on your car, you can add it now. This item fits MINIs built March '02 and later (September '04 and later for convertibles) thru the 2006 models. Installation is somewhat involved, so be sure to view the factory instructions at the link below.

Provides better sound quality compared to playback through the AUX port. The iPod interface will work with Nano, Mini, 3G, 4G or 5G video (G = generation). Not compatible with 5G (video) Nano.

Below is a customer feedback on installing the iPOD interface in the 2006 MINI. There seems to be some 'variations' from the factory instructions: On the 2006, no need to lift the fascia around the speedo to remove the tubes. DONT BUY THIS
By:
I have a 2004 Mini Cooper S (R53) bought this so I could use my iPod/iPhone for tunes. Install is crap. Instructions are horrible. Requires buying extra tools. I trusted mini mania for a good part this one is really a loser. Waste of money, and very expensive. You'll never be able to connect your iPod, and there are much easier kits out there. I ended up breaking wires whilst attempting to install it. Doesn't come with all the required tools and parts for installation. STAY AWAY -------------------Comment from Mini Mania. This is an OEM part, with instructions provided by MINI. It's the same product you would get from a MINI dealership. As our product description states, "Installation is somewhat involved", so you should download the installation instructions before purchase to see what's involved. The installation instructions state,"The target group of these installation instructions are technical personnel trained on MINI vehicles with corresponding technical know-how. All work is to be carried out with the aid of currently valid MINI repair instructions, schematic circuit diagrams, maintenance manuals and working instructions in rational order with the specified tools (special tools) while paying particular attention to valid safety regulations"
