MINI did a wonderful job with the handling on the new 3rd generation F-series MINI, but their design is on the conservative side to appeal to the widest segment of the market. This leaves room for improvement for the 'enthusiast' type driver.
When we talk about 'improving' the suspension, we always begin with a larger rear sway bar. This upgrade reduces the inherent 'understeer' built into the car for safety and provides a more 'balanced' car. This allows you to carry more speed into and out of the corner while keeping the car 'flatter' in the corners.
The Lowering Springs lowers the center of gravity allowing a quicker turn-in response and also helps to keep the car flatter in the corner.
Anytime the MINI is lowered, the rear negative camber is greatly increased and needs to be corrected. This is the reason for the Adjustable Rear Control Arms included in the Stage 2 kit. A pair of the rear adjustable control arms will allow you to correct the negative camber.
REAR ANTI-SWAY BAR
Front wheel drive cars naturally understeer from the factory, even the MINIs. The NM Engineering Solid 22mm Rear Anti Sway Bar improves your F-chassis MINI by enducing more oversteer and increasing the car handling predictability.

REAR ADJUSTABLE CONTROL ARMS (Stage 1+ and Stage 2)
Introducing the newly redesigned NM Engineering Control Arm kit. While others use 1" diameter 6061 aluminum material, NM machines our control arms utilizing aerospace grade 7075-T6 1 1/4" hex aluminum bars, finished with titanium tint Type III / Mil-Spec Anodize. The use of larger material provides rigidity and strength of steel bar but without the weight.
NM Control Arm Kit also features precision heavy duty rod ends made from heat treated hardened steel with self lubricating nylon race. The threaded rod ends allow user to dial the suspension camber to desired specs, crucial for the weekend track enthusiasts and professional racers. T-303 stainless steel is used for the spacers to avoid any flexing and crushing caused by suspension load.
One pair of the Control Arm Kit allows rears camber adjustments, but will also affect the rear toe. Using two pairs of the control arms allows independent adjustment of rear camber and rear toe.
Optional Rubber Rod End Boot Kit protects the rod ends against dirt and grime that may cause performance noise. Available separately.
FRONT UPPER STRUT BRACE - Blue (Stage 2 only)
The Front Upper Strut Bar - Tie-Bar is designed to reinforce the already stellar MINI Cooper chassis. Installation reduces fore and aft, as well as side-to-side chassis flex during spirited driving, which helps to eliminate unwanted geometry/alignment change. This results in better steering response and better handling.
The mounting bases and tube ends are machined from solid 6061-T6 aluminum billets, and not some cheap welded together sheet metal pieces. The bar is formed utilizing a 1" round 6061-T6 aluminum tubing with 1/4" thick wall for the perfect balance between stiffness and weight. While others use a single bolt design we use two bolts to solidly secure the tube end to the mounting base. The single bolt mounting still allows the assembly to pivot and skewed, rendering them ineffective against chassis flex, no matter how tight you cinch the bar end bolt.
UNDER CHASSIS BRACE (Stage 2 only)
The 'Big Pair' Under Chassis Brace improves overall handling of the Gen3 Fxx MINI Cooper by reducing the twisting motion that accompanies torsional loading of the chassis in corners. Point is; if you are hitting the corners hard you'll notice better steering response, better turn-in, rotation and even reduced under steer when you want it.
