The AX6™ takes the place of the Panther Plus™ compound that was so successful. AX6™ was specifically engineered for Autocross applications. These pads are slotted for the factory brake wear sensor.
Pads can also be ordered 'pre-bedded', where the bedding in procedure is done for you. Look for the 'Bedded' option in the Image List below or to the right.
Fits the following models:
2007-2013 R56 Mini Cooper and Cooper S Hatchback
2008-2014 R55 Mini Cooper and Cooper S Clubman

A high torque brake compound delivering reliable and consistent performance over a very wide operating temperature range (50°F to 1150°F +). Advanced compound matrix provides an excellent initial "bite", high coefficient of friction, and very progressive brake modulation and release characteristics.
AX6™ offers high fade resistance, rotor friendliness at all temperatures, excellent cold stopping power, and non corrosive dust. As a result, AX6™ is an excellent choice for Autocross & AX6™ has gained tremendous popularity with SCCA Prosolo/Solo2 competitors for its fantastic bite, release & modulation.
Many drivers use the AX6™ for street driving as well, even though Carbotech doesn't recommend street driving with AX6™ due to possible elevated levels of dust and noise.
AX6™ is NOT a race compound, and should not be used as such. AX6™ shouldn't be used by any intermediate or advanced track day drivers, and should not be used with "R" compound tires (racing tires).
For the factory replacement Brake Wear Sensor, see G2NMB2020.
Brake fluid should be replaced every 2 years. See ATE Performance Brake Fluid for replacement brake fluid. ATE Type 200 Amber is a high quality performance fluid that will last much longer than the standard DOT4 fluid. This is an ABS friendly fluid.
ATE® Type 200 Amber Fluid has a dry boiling point of 536F and a wet boiling point of 396F which far exceeds standard brake fluids meeting the DOT 4 requirements. This fluid is NOT SILICONE and is compatible with conventional brake fluid. 100% synthetic fluid is specifically designed to resist the high temperatures of racing brakes and yet very suitable for daily driving.
