Thanks, ya'll........we decided to come back to NC to prepare for Irma, all, it turns out, to no need as the storm is well west of us and predicted to be not as strong as expected to be.  A least we are here in case it wobbles over .

Be safe ya'll in Florida.

You might want to try the Mullin Museum [link]. It's 10 mins off Hwy 101 in Oxnard. The Peterson is the grand-daddy of course, but can be a bit overwhelming. The Mullin specializes in French marques. Beautiful displays and over-the-top cars.

While in the Newport area I'd recommend a meal on the beach at The Beachcomber and after take some time to explore the Crystal Cove state park.

Exploring the Balboa island and peninsula area of Newport is interesting but may be packed with the summer crowd. If you do go make sure to take the ferry in one direction at least.

If you are still in Orange County Saturday there are plenty of car shows to attend. Most are early morning events that are finished by 8:00 or 9:00.

The Peterson is a great choice and will take only a few hours of your time.

The Marconi is not far from Newport. It's more of a private collection on display than a museum. Check their schedule before heading over.

How about a run on Mulholland with a stop at the Snake?

Around Newport Beach for a few days, then up to Palo Alto, Sonoma for Labor Day, then Salinas and back to Newport Beach.

Thinking about checking the AVG golf cart Moles today.

Also Peterson museum. Any suggestions?
